my bike went in on weds for a service and the new replacement head ,i rung today all done mine was there 6th bike, re did the shims,

It took them a day to do?.....let's us know how the bike is performing...

did this recall show up on the bmw site straight away. ive not had it come up for mine or my missis bike yet and was wondering if they stagger the recalls. my bikes were late 2020

I think they identified a bad quality batch and contacted the relevant owners. Think your safe but I always check my reg monthly as a precaution anyway

I got a call yesterday that mine was delayed as they needed a specialist tool to put it back together and they didn't have it. Strange reason like. So it will be another week.

Well guys just had an update from my dealer .......they done an valve clearance check while putting everything back together and my bike is right of the top of BMW guidance for tolerance which they said is strange as you only see this in bikes that done 18000 miles valve check not a bike thats done 800 so they have to order different size shins....hope this isn't a Friday afternoon bike.......something tells me this bike won't be in my garage for long.......so far its been in dealers longer than in my garage.........if only I kept my gen3.....

Confused, are they swapping the head or not? Is this the old head they know needs to be replaced?

Yes.....replaced old cylinder head...with new one ....then done valve check i presume????? I'm no Motorrad technician so don't know thats all they said to me

Lucky man......
Still waiting for mine ,last conversation with dealer was waiting on different size shimm's to arrive which will be Tuesday

So I called bow today for an update on my bike, they called me last week to say it would be delayed as they needed a specialist tool, they have that tool now and are putting it back together. Mine was the first bike they've done. They don't fill me with confidence as I also enquired about my brakes and they hadn't looked at them yet, had my bike nearly two weeks!!!

I also asked about having a usb point fitted whilst it was in, they said they'd never done one before so were struggling to find a power point for it. I was baffled by this as I told them there is supposed to be a source at the front of the bike and that you can now spec them as a optional extra so surely they had seen these before, they then called back with a price of ?142 to fit it. I politely declined

Mine was collected nearly 2 weeks ago had a call today from dealer saying its all done but can they do any extended test ride to make sure everything is OK i said OK been tracking them tonight been on a rite tour so far they done 60 miles......

Lets hope they fill it back up hey haha. I can't wait to get mine back, sick of this courtesy bike they've given me, only good thing about it is its Ade me realise id never buy a naked bike
