Hello all,

Just traded in my Yamaha R6 for my dream bike the BMW S1000RR (gen1). Totally the wrong time of year for making the step up to a ltr bike so thought I'd come see what advice you experienced lot have regarding maintenance and upgrades to keep me going over the winter!

Welcome. R6 is a weapon, but the RR is going to be a hoot.

Evotech Radiator Guards, GB Racing engine covers, would be the mods I'd do. Get some decent tyres like S22's on it. Have the suspension serviced and setup for you.
When was the last oil change and brake fluid change? I'd do both if you don't know.
Clean the brake calipers, one at a time. Toothbrush and fairy liquid, make sure the pistons move easily, but be careful not to pop one out when pushing another back in!
