when I was in Bahnstormers (Alton) on friday having my bike serviced; I asked if they had taken any orders for the HP4 yet "expecting to hear 1 or 2" but appartley 10 orders have been placed all carbon editions, I thought the UK was in resesion seems not

i know a few folk that slapped a deposit down before BMW even announced pricing.

Might be people want to get some orders in to resell later if there is a shortage, like they do with flash cars.:)

I go in there on the way home from work most days its no bulls shit, I know about 5 guys
who have left deposits on the hp4 :) :) :) :)

There is NO chance that there will be a shortage, Can't see this bike being a TRUE limited edition , so long as there is demand BM will make them! In my humble opinion the bike will never become a collectable like RC30,RC45 but I could be wrong

I went to an open evening at Cannon BMW last night and got to see the HP4 in the flesh.... I asked the Sales guy if he had taken any orders and they had 4 orders for the HP4!
Apparently, there is only going to be 100 plain HP4's and 100 HP4 carbon editions coming to Blighty for next year. With 40 dealers Nationwide that is 5 per dealer. I cant see the Sales figures quoted by Cannon's last night being solid. (could be wrong) ;)

ps my eyes were drawn to the 2012 Red n White bike sitting there being ignored by almost everyone, that would be my choice if I was to change ;D

pps forgot to mention that the HP4 on show was shod with Pirelli Diablo SuperCorsa's and Pirelli in big lettering on the front m/guard....

All I want to know were there any donuts because they have been lacking lately
No feckin donuts (apart from the sales guys) but we did get george dors and a glass of champers ;)

There isn't going to be a limited number of them, they are only available for limited period. So not a limited edition in the true sense of the word.

So the Salesman at Cannons was talking total Bollocks? nothing unusual there then ;D

With the experience I've had with BMW.being only a s1000rr owner and the small problems I have had with my 9 month old bike which cost me 10k + . It seems we are not worthy unless we are parting with much more £

HP4 has just gone down in my estimation because the all singing and dancing suspension is the same as the 2013 Ducati Multistrada!!!!
I think I'll wait till 2014 for the upgraded software(can always turn it off in the meantime).

Agreed. I personally think an S1000, be it 2011 or 2012 with decent suspension (Bitubo or the gold stuff) will be a better better bike than the HP4.

I think you're right Russ,I was going to buy an HP4,but thought f**k it,I'd lose far too much money,I've seen what I lost on my 2011!

Any idea what the trade in is likley to be on a 2012 model for the HP4? I agree makes no sense to throw money away on the HP4, but it does look tasty.

I was going to order a HP4 with the carbon extras with heated grips and alarm, it total works out just under £20k. trade in on a 2011 motorsport with 2400 miles was £8k hence im keeping the 2011 for another year.

The problem is the 2012 are being sold off, the recall bikes that were not sold are being sold off by dealers at over a grand of the price. ???
