Mine are fitted to my Gen 4 and I didn?t have any problems.

No idea what you fit there, but you can't fit them without removing dowel pins.

The fork dowels take a couple of seconds to remove. It?s absolutely no different to the previous Gen 3.

Yes, if you have right tools. I had to buy screw extractor kit to remove them on gen3.

I removed mine with a pair of grips. You can just grab them and twist them out.

I tried that, didn't work unfortunately, they were stuck.

i couldn't get my dowels on my gen3,no matter what i did,heat,freeing agents,grips,everything!!! (even tried to reverse drill them out) i had to cut mine off,must have welded in over the couple the years of brake dust,heat etc.

but yes,the caliper themselves are a straight swap,even easier if you get bmw specific ones with the recess cut int the caliper holes
