Just 6mm ply cut tight. Made huge difference.

I got it clearance in Argos. It's a aerobed double. Built in pump. High enough bed but it's nice enough the lady sleeps up with me happy out.

Bought a nice wee Trafic at the weekend, 50k miles taking a break from insulating it... what a pain in the arse of a job... getting it ply fitted in Glasgow next Thursday and my carpet fitters doing the lining next weekend.. drives sweet as...

. Looking good Stu. Is that the only insulation your putting in before having it plylined, also are you insulating the floor as well matey.

Lol...BBB comes right out with it... I paid under 9k cash, I hunted about last few weeks and was really lucky, guy was moving back to England and needed a quick sale, my mate called when I was out van hunting, it was on Gumtree....he had loads of calls for it, but I got in first... he done a halfway from Fort William to the Green Welly which was pretty decent..

I could sell it tomorrow for ?10,500 easy

Cheap, I'm envy you. I'm in the market for a van, but only see 11k-11.5k for Ford custom with similar miles.

I was lucky mate and got in first.. its an easy 2-3k under priced.

Probably going to upgrade rims and tyres, got the pencil out last night, can go up to 225/55s with a 17" 7j rim..

OE is 205/65 ?16 on a 6j Pressed steel rim.

I knocked up this tabulation and sent it to my insurer for their consideration..just waiting on their reply..the figures are absolutely spot on..

I worked in the tyre game when I was younger..

There's a lot to consider when upgrading to bigger rims, each measurement is important, however the one area most people give little or no consideration to is the load index. They basically stick car or 4x4 tyre sizes on cos they look good, irrespective of what they carry in the van, those tyres are wrong. Very low aspect ratio tyres like 35/40s etc have insufficient sidewall to handle even a half laden van correctly, 101 XL is about it for ultra low profiles... .. no slight on you man, just saying... but damn they do look great lol !...

101 Load Index compared to the tyres I will fit 109/106 is a huge difference.. the load index range is modified by increasing or decreasing tyre pressures.

Check the chart.. almost 200kgs a corner !... if an assessor turns up at a smashed van and it has fancy rims it will be the first thing he looks at... if the rubber and rim don't comply I don't fancy the claimants chances... it's all to do with the plated weight of the van.

Rolling circumference also has to match closely, if it doesn't it knocks the Speedo out which most people can live with or simply don't care about, what is seldom considered is how that affects the Electronic Stability Control in later vans..2011 on I think as everything is calibrated on the base tyre size.

Next time you see a tricked up Tranny/Vivaro it'll have you thinking lol..

I know. I used to run 98 weight front and 100 rear

But higher pressure too. 60 rear 50 ish front.

265/35/19 is very close to 215/65/16 which was standard to mine. 2.7% bigger

Ran for 3 years. My only issue was they weren't available easy.

Just the bulkhead and roof to carpet Ian..never bothered with the floor, just 9 mil down.. I'll get some of that astro floor or whatever its called, it's non slip and stick that on to the ply.

I'll finish the carpeting when I route my second row of LEDs and battery..
