I'm at the point of replacing the front discs on this ZX10R..
Current set up.....

1. Brembo M/C
2. R1 Calipers (which is a common upgrade)..
3. The discs are OE 300 mm... they are below min thickness of 5.5 mm.

The lever feels very good,.. better than my HP4 (as stated on here before).. I've never ridden it other than on my short street.

I will replace with Brembo but not sure whether to go like for like 300 mil or upgrade to 320 or 330.. cost difference plus ?100 to ?125 ish...

I don't want the brakes to be too fierce, not sure how much better the M/C and R1 calipers were over the existing set up, and my memories faded since I sold my last 10R in 2015 which was completely standard and never gave me any concerns..

Opinions welcome ?

Stu, how would you move the caliper out to allow for the bigger discs?

To be more specific can you link to such things I've wondered about these spacers and using 330mm discs before but I've not found the parts. So I'm probably not using the right terms.
 
Mine have just arrived in office out on appts just now..I'll post up some pics ltr.

Remember spacers are half additional disc diameter.

From 300 to 320 10mm space required..

330 12.5mm needed..

That is an excellent point!
 
320 mil upgrade with 10 mil spacers and extended caliper bolts.. lucky enough to pick up a brand new OE rim off EB...

Jeez, gimme a chance lol... drained rad and cyl jacket, dripping dry as we speak... whipped rear off, balanced, captives fitted back on and nipped up.... piece of piss...thanks to Loupe !!.. again... balanced spare front, fitted captives...

Waiting on an aftermarket seal kit from wemoto Dr... I'll get into the front next week...

Guys along the road do an amazing job of recoating rims 30 quid .. spare back today, was badly chipped..
