Hi,

Belgian track-only S1000RR rider here :)
I stubled upon this forum when looking for info/feedback about the new 2020 model so decided to register.

I currently have a 2013 track-only S1000RR, and just got a call from the dealer that my 2020 just arrived and is ready for pickup.
I do about 20-25 trackdays per year, so the 2020 will also be completely stripped and modified for track-only use.

Somehow my hobby got a bit out of hand when I started organising trackdays some 15y ago :love-struck:

Some action pics of the 'old' one :tennis:

And for those wondering ... nope it's not grass-surfing :tennis:
Take-off and touch-down were both on the tarmac

Nope, will be picking up the bike on thursday and breaking it in on friday.
They won't have a chance to start leaking since I'll replace them with Beringer calipers :)
The bike will be practically completely stripped, so I'll have lots of OEM parts up for sale pretty soon.

I went a bit crazy with the Alpharacing parts ...
- RCK Pro
- ECU bracket
- RCK Pro GPS
- RCK3 kit interface
- Motec protective housing
- Alpha Fast shift sensor
- E-throttle SBK
- Alpha Dash and fairing carrier
- Bonamici rearsets
- Alpha clipons
- Beringer Aerotec calipers
- Brembo RCS19 Corsa Corta master cylinder
- Ohlins steering damper
- Ohlins cartridges
- Ohlins TTX
- SAS cover & plugs
- BMC Airfilter
- ABS delete
- Akra complete system
- Fima fairings

And then probably still forgot some stuff :)

Excellent list of parts!

What is SAS cover and plugs? Do you need those with full akra?

Design of the fairings (will arrive in a few weeks)

Required when you remove the Secondary Air System.

You can also fabricate something yourself, but easier to buy the kit they have.
I think on an R6 it's called the AIS and it's used to introduce fresh air into the hot exhaust stream (something to do with emissions).

Injecting fresh air with the exhaust stream might offset the RCK Pro lambda values.

Air/Fuel
Fueling is done completely under closed loop, always configured for maximum engine power.
Fuel table is now configurable with lambda targets (instead of injection correction on the former RCK Pro)

  • [h=2]Modified vehicle parts[/h]
  • - ABS system needs to be removed
    - SAS system needs to be removed
    - DDC suspension must be changed to a conventional setup
    - OEM exhaust must be replaced by a racing exhaust system

Great plan!
Why do you prefer Beringer calipers? What are their advantages over Brembo in your opinion?
I heard a lot of good things about them

They are a league higher than Brembo GP4-RX but in the same pricerange.
Lighter & stiffer, and possible to have them factory fitted with titanium pistons.
Quite a few EWC teams use them!

Agree on the berenger calipers, I think they have more feel if that’s possible?

Only Europeans are using Beringer, never seen these on UK bikes.

Seems like a niche product

I bought mine off the phase one endurance team who were sponsored by them. They did however do back to back tests/comparisons an apparently the riders preferred them.

Sleepless night with a list of parts like that to pay for..that must run into $$$$$$$$$
