Re: Winter Workshop

So all done lads, picked up both bellypans and front fender from paintshop today, they lacquered up well... very shiny... lad forgot to give me the 4 mounting rubbers so I'll pick them up and stick the bellypan on tomorrow.

This years exercise was way cheaper than last years [emoji3]

Quick rundown...

1.Chain, sprockets and lockwasher
2. Indicator
3. Pair of tyres
4. Carbon chain guard.
5. OE Caliper kit and motul fluid.
6. Belly Pan and Fender lacquered.
7. Set of OE decals for belly pan.
8. SBS Race Sintered pads
9. Fluid replaced rear reservoir.

Need to book her in and get that new plug grafted into the loom under warranty...

Re: Winter Workshop

Looking good stu!

Just needs an integrated cf rear hugger/chain guard lol. The spending never ends ;)

Re: Winter Workshop

I've never liked that dual hugger/chain guard thing Andy... I hate the look of them..... so no chance I'll buy one of them lol..

Re: Winter Workshop

Stuart - where did you get the decals from for the belly pan please?

Is that an Ilmberger belly pan?
From one of the BM dealers down south, they are OE...think you can order a set from any outlet.. I'm sure it was Bowkers from memory.

No both these bellypans are OE... their like hens teeth now, hard to find..

Re: Winter Workshop

Well I’m starting my winter overhaul of the garage on Thursday.... hoping to have a more ‘organised man cave’ great effort stu. Ready for the sunshine and warm weather 👍👍👊

Re: Winter Workshop

Well rebuilt engine on the dyno went well for a hour. Then I believe rear cylinder had a oil issue. Passing rings or something.

On the positives it made very good power and torque. Gearbox was slick and lovely. Hopefully new barrel and rings. They tend to go oval.

Re: Winter Workshop

Any pics of your rebuild Cork, get them posted mate. Theres nothing better to look at or more satisfying than a strip down and rebuild in imo... I miss the old Motor Cycle Mechanics mags for that very thing..

Oval as in the Barrel ?

Re: Winter Workshop

There on Robert's racing on facebook. I donno how to attach them here.

Yes the barrel gone oval.

Thoughts are I might have made mistakes on either

Unlikely: one or 2 compression rings upside down and the tiny V acting wrong and digging in

More likely: oval and I done the ring gap on the looser side of the barrel and the gap closed up.

Better on them to do one ring left of barrel one to right I'm told.

Damage is minor to barrel hone may fix but iv a second hand "good" barrel coming to me. I'll give machinest the 3 barrels and he can pick the best 2.
And I'll rehone rering both cylinders.

Re: Winter Workshop

Hone works a treat as long as there not too out of round...I don't do facebook lol... if you sign up as a premier member you can simplycadd the pics using tapatalk its the easiest way..
