I'd only change it when I run out of adjustment.
Or when the sprockets are knackered.

Good chain I'd leave it. I'd change it if you were starting to have to adjust it alot.
I would change if: sprockets are knackered, links are getting stuck or it’s requiring an excessive frequency of adjustment
as said above, when the sprockets are knackered. ive just fit a new one on my road bike at 11,000 miles.

It depends whether it's 520 or 525,how hard you ride,how well you look after it,whether you ride in the rain or not and how much it's stretched.
It's a bit like saying "how long will my brake pads last?-depends how you use the brakes!
Me,I use 520 Tsubaki RacePro and replace max 3000 miles,regardless.
