I’m so confused right now, i want to do oil change in my s1000rr gen 1 at 16k miles and trying to find recommended oil 5w40 however when I looked at ebay most of them are available from outside uk ( italy, germany) every uk shops have 10w40 oil+filter packages. Can you tell me if using 10w40 is gonna be a problem, what oil you running in yours s1k rr please? Thanks

SAE 5W-40, API SL / JASO MA2, Additives (e.g. molybdenum-based) are not permissible because they can attack coated components of the engine, BMW Motorrad recommends BMW Motorrad ADVANTEC Ultimate oil.
Get the right grade of oil.
