Can some one explain why MotoGP discs look like that ?

Also, what is that thing circled in red ? Is it a tyre pressure gauge ?

They are definitely not for sale for anyone outside of the MotoGP paddock. That and they are rumoured to cost ?20,000 per set...
 
Also carbon ceramic disk ware much quicker than steel disk when used hard.

Porche released a article stating if your going to use your car on track don't spec carbon ceramic.

Just a interesting fact lol
 
Surprised at that. I thought that was half the point of them

Longevity of ceramics is bizarrely poor when used very hard (great the rest of the time) but when racing its not a problem, I think it is to do with repeated heat dissipation/absorption and the fibres eventually breaking up, reducing performance. If the surface of the ceramic disc becomes rough through fibres breaking up, pads will wear much quicker too. A couple of decent trackdays could destroy a set of ceramic discs imo.
