Hi all,

I recently decided I wanted to do a few things on my bike. First projects:

- Air filter replacement
- Brake pads

Air filter went pretty well, but for the brake pads, due to its huge importance. I wanted to make sure I didn't screw up anything.

I made the following album: https://imgur.com/a/VMmqgYm

Question:

- Are the brake pads well put together?
- Regarding the front sprocket ... Can I leave the cover off? Also, I removed the part where the cover screws into. Assume that's OK?

Thank you all!

If you mean the steel semi circle piece, it?s there to protect the engine cases if the chain comes off, I would recommend you put it back on.

That's the piece in the picture (picture #3), right? I should put that piece back on and use the bolts that hold the cover (picture 4)?

What purpose will it serve you leaving the sprocket cover off ?.. or have I missed a previous post.....as Milbridger says replace that crankcase protector or you will need deep pockets in the event of chain failure..[emoji6]

OK. Metal part and cover going back in.

The only reason I removed is because it made it easier to clean.

Anyone know torque specs for these bolts?

Thanks!

your chain looks to have a few tight links, give a clean+lube
