Watched both videos but didn't hear any TC sound. At which second is it noticeable?

You can change some TC values.

Please bear in mind the TC was quite aggressive in these video's. Sport +5. In IDM they use Race +3 as a starting point.

It seems like you can only change tyre radius and nothing else (SlipCor, TrqControl, Lean Angle etc). This is something that must be considered before upgrading. The maps might be very very good and make a very cool sound:victorious: but there are many different riders, tracks and weather conditions to be considered for one map. By changing radius you can increase or decrease slip but nothing more. All the other strategies are not available.

This suggests you can change it all but you're starting fresh. I've no intention to test this.

RS2E stick a new base map on it...with features not available in the RCK3. If you choose to over-ride the base map you lose the features it hasn't got, i.e. Fuel Cut/Audible TC.

Is it re-flasheable ? Can I just save their map, play with RCK3 and if I don't like it, flash their map back?
 
If you want to tinker you might as well just get an RCK map done.
Going to RS2E and then not using it would seem a bit pointless.

Are all changes by the RCK perma? Don't know.

No, you cannot save their map out.

RCK isn't permament,you can changfe whatever,whenever (save as many map/settings files as you like) to suit varying tracks (you wouldn't alter fuel maps,even though you could if you wanted to),tweak the TC,wheelie control+engine braking.

so once the Rs2e map/settings are done,theres no changing any of it,not even TC etc? why do you need the RCK unlock if it's no use to you if you cant alter the settings?

I didn't say that was the case Ionnis did. I've never used the RCK so don't know what it does/doesn't do. But going by the wording in the attached image I think you're right and all the adjustments can be made like you would an OEM map.

I just don't know what happens to the TC mode if you tinker too much...would be a shame to have it fall back to default.

I think I must contact RS2E for more details. Traction control when used in the track it is very important to be able to adjust it to fit driver/bike/track/weather conditions. This can be done from the driver/mechanic at the track and that is the purpose of RCK software. With remapping I must know if this can be done with RCK software or it must be remaped once more (probably from a RS2E specialist). Now if it can be adjusted with RCK software RS2E must provide me with instructions of how to adjust with RCK software and if the DTC strategies work in the same manner like they were designed from BMW. In the HP Race bike they use different software than the RCK we know. I believe the RS2E map is very good but for what driver/bike/track/weather conditions? I have used in the past can type solutions for AFR/DTC and I regret it not because they were bad but because I could not adjust them to my specs. This is why after a lot of time and money I finally purchased the BMW HP Race ECU/RCK solution and I encourage every S1000RR driver who wants to track the bike to go HP solution. If the RS2E can provide me with the tools and knowledge to adjust correct DTC I might go their way.

ok so my reading on that is,if you decide to input a file via RCK3,it overrides the rs2 map and bike settings to whatever is in the RCK file,the rs2 map isn't re-writable by the user,but tc parameters i assume can still be changed via the dash +/-7(same as usuall) but working to rs2's parameters.the rest of the bike settings are fixed by the rs2 map (wheelie,engine braking).if you want to change/fine tune these,it will need to be done via the RCK and a suitable fuel map loaded onto the bike also,but will over ride the rs2 map etc.

Alex, I'm considering doing this mod and have been re-reading your experience to get a better picture in my head.

Did you actually notice any difference on power delivery ? By the way you describe it, all that you noticed is a shorter throttle travel.

Did you/Do you use 1st grear much ? How was the wheelie experience coming out of slow corners ?



One of the thing that really annoys me now, is a long OEM throttle travel. You literally need to move your hand forward on long straights to get 100% gas.

The only way to really solve that issue is to buy a quick action throttle. Both TGP and alpha Racing offer electronic versions which reduce throttle rotation from 80? to 68?. It?s just a shame that the HP4 Race quick action throttle only works with the 2017-18 S1000RR.
