Never again will I have to crawl and lie on my cold garage floor... best 400 odd quid spent. whipped Calipers, wheel and discs off in 15 mins...all at waist height...

Re: Workshop Ramp

Ah man Stu. I'd decided to put a ramp on hold for a few months and buy a decent dehumidifier and heat for the garage. But now looking at your photos I'm thinking a ramp is essential as well! I need a lottery win to get the shed kitted out how I want it!

Re: Workshop Ramp

Best money I've spent in a while Kenny... dead easy to work on it as everything is right there at waist height...

Re: Workshop Ramp

The bike and ramp are looking good Stuart! Nice write up.

24nm sounds right for the disc bolts. Do take care and tighten slowly/carefully. My disc bolts were like chocolate :-(

Re: Workshop Ramp

Tyre on, discs fitted, torqued diagonally, loctite. Wheel balanced... put assembly back together...all looking grand. Axle and Pinch bolts torqued correctly..

Hate to be a pain whats caliper bolt Torque Value.. 38nm rings a bell.

Re: Workshop Ramp

Just pulled my back wheel off... how much play is acceptable in the cush drives, it's probably just me thinking there was less last year when I replaced my C and S... it's difficult to measure single handedly..I'd guess 2 mil..

Re: Workshop Ramp

I'd change them if there's any play. I did mine last year when I replaced rear sprocket for same reason.
The rubbers are a bit expensive from BMW for what they are (about ?60 a set if I remember) but worth it for peace of mind.
