This is happening over the weekend just along the road from me.....these old Victorian Bridges are reaching the end of their useful lives... the engineers cut and excavated the old bridge and used one of those Mammoet crawlers to raise it and transport to this assembly area, they have had to create this huge working area from a grassed park next to the bowling green.

Impressive to see it in the flesh, no idea what that old bridge weighs..must be in 100s of tons, the new bridge is the blue one with the rails etc already installed, that big metal structure will support the old bridge whilst the new one is swapped on to the crawler

I build bridges for a living and it impresses me to. Went over to the iom on Monday and put this together and installed it in the afternoon
