Can anyone explain how the linked braking system works? I hit the front brakes pretty hard today as lights changed on me. When i pulled off i could feel a slight drag from the rear. A mile down the road the rear locked up on me (not nice) i had 8 and 10 mm spanner so backed off adjuster and got home as it released with 1 turn.
When you brake hard with front i know the bike engages the rear but i didnt feel rear brake lever depress so how does it engage the calipers? If i have this issue will backing off the adjuster help or is the issue something else?
Cheers for any help

Through the ABS pump.
Its probably a seized caliper and need cleaning.

I edited to add it sounds like the caliper piston is not moving well.

I would get the wheel off and test it
