One of my 2017 trips to the Alps.

Not trying to show off, but more to share experience. I'm frequent to these areas, if you need any advice where to go, which mountain passes to see I'm happy to help.
Don't look at my body position, it's awful. Pre-days of S1000RR and track.

Covering Dolomites / Lake Como / Stelvio areas and a bit of Swiss.

Most of my trips start in Bellagio. It's a nice place to have a morning cappuccino, although it can be pricy.
The best thing about Bellagio and Como, is that you can ride a ferry.

After that I normally take a ferry to Varenna. From there you have 2 options, either go north to Swiss or continue east towards Sondrio/Tirano.
Lake Como in the morning hours is so calm and quiet.

This time around, on way to Stelvio I decided to pass by St Moritz. So, after Varenna I turned north to Swiss.

It's June, so dandelion season. They look lovely in the Alps.

Stelvio opened just a week ago, in time for Giro d'Italia. Everything around is still covered in snow.

If you ever come to Stelvio, there is only one place where you should (read: must) buy Tyrolean foods - it's from this guy.

After Stelvio, I usally go to Jaufen pass. It's an awesome fast mountain road, all the way to the top.

Next on the list, is Dolomites.

Dolomites is by far the best place in Alps for motorbiking.

You can't go wrong with Dolomites.

What I used to do in past, is to drive a motorbike in a van to Munich/Lindau, drop it off at a motorway gas station for a week or so.
From Lindau, you just cross into Swiss, go to Fl?ela Pass and from there to Umbrail/Stevlio (that can easily be 1 day trip).

After that stop at Merano or Bolzano (two amazing german speaking Italian towns)(taste Frost beer) and on a next day go to Dolomites: Canazei or Corvara.
Once you're there, just explore every possible mountain pass that you can find on the map: Sella, Pordoi, Gardena, Fedaia, di Giau, Falzarego.
Stop at Cortina as well, it's a nice Alpian town as well.

Just make sure you don't go there during Maratona time. Many of Dolomites passes will be closed for vehicles during that time.

Was discussing the Stelvio at the weekend away there, having both ridden it on superbikes (can't recall who with) and we both agreed a supermoto was the best machine for the job...fantastic pics and the perfect machine for the job.

Awesome idea the van! [emoji1319][emoji1319] used to do that when I used to go to the TT and North West as it was cheaper on the ferry to get 4 bikes in the back. 🤣
Thanks for the advice man much appreciated.[emoji1305]

damn we're only going to the Picos this year - Dolomites next year me thinks!

Excellent series of pics I have to say with some lovely composition (photographer myself) certainly going to do this at some point thats for sure , forum meet run would be awesome........

Cracking pics, cheers for sharing!
Actually doing most of the mountain passes next month on a European road trip, albeit in the car and not the bike. It’s a 3500mile round trip for us, so not sure the wife would have appreciated being perched on the back of the RR :joyous: Can’t wait to get going now after seeing these!
