I emailed the picture to Metzeler and I received an email back this morning. They said to return the tyre to a nominated tyre company and they will replace the tyre free of charge so they can investigate.....

Can't say I was ever in heavy rain with them but I had no issues when it was wet.

Great customer service, I presume you told them that it happened on track? Only as it’ll help them decipher what’s happened to the tyre.

Yes, I told them I was on track and the tyre pressure I was running.

I will follow up with an email to see what their findings are.
