Read about this recently and found it absorbing and terrifying at the same time... I've done up to Padi advanced open water and Nitrox which is laughable compared to these guys..talk about self control and finding out what your really made of..

I saw this on the BBC and thought you should see it:

The cave divers who went back for their friends - http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-36097300

That was some read Stuart, I will be watching that film. Has similar emotional links to the 33 miners getting trapped in Chile. Anything underground is dangerous and when you add water into the equation it makes for danger you will rarely encounter voluntarily.

Hats off to the guys that returned for their friends.

On the subject of diving Stuart, yesterday me and Kenny were chatting to two Police bikers at the wee burger van near Lix Toll on the road from Lochearnhead.

One of them was the diver that found the first body part of the unfortunate Barry Wallace in Loch Lomond whilst on a training dive in Loch Lomond. He thought it was a mannequins arm in a bag that had been put there for training purposes, shat himself when he saw it was real. He was shouting to his team from the surface that he had found an arm and none of them believed him, the rest is history.
On the plus side he scored a ?4K diving watch from the overtime, lol.

Some of our 'Gory stories' reminded me of how it made me pretty emotionless to some of the worse things I saw and makes me wonder how I have managed to stay so stable in the years since...........
