Hi all,
Does anyone have an MRA screen fitted to their 2015-2016 S1000RR?
I just fitted a light smoke double bubble one today and noticed a few fitment issues which I'll be contacting MRA about shortly:
- Sits off the air intake (~1cm gap), this could be normal however? Will let bugs, water etc into the back of the dash area though
- Doesn't sit flush around the top screws area, behind the mirror mounting points, which now seems to be causing a fair fit of vibrations with the mirrors as the fairing cannot sit on the front sub-frame which has rubber pads to seemingly stop this issue.

Some photos below to illustrate. Would appreciate any feedback or experiences others have had/seen/etc...

Thanks

Hi Mate

I have the same screen on my 16. I can?t make out the issue on pic 3 & don?t get the vibrations but the side profile is exactly the same as pic 2.

I remember thinking it looked slightly odd when fitting it, but never seem to get issues with bugs & water - all seem to bounce of the front lip & lights & run off the top of the screen.

Overall, I?m really impressed with the functionality & aesthetics.

I chose the MRA after recommendations from forum members, so hopefully they will be along soon with their input.

Thanks for the feedback Rosso. I'm am pretty happy with it overall, just the two issues (really only one now! :) )

The third pic is sort of showing 'layers' fairing->screen->sub-frame, where as the factory screen was fairing/screen->sub-frame (it wasn't getting in the way of the fairing sitting flush on the sub-frame)...not the best photo I know, but very awkward trying to get a decent photo under there

The gap is intended. It?s an aero device.
It helps reduce the pressure. Water isn?t an issue, and its a motorbike, its waterproof...

I know how you feel, Cobo. I put it on and thought, hmm doesn't look right.
However it works really well for me, and I'm 6'6". I'm really pleased with it.
Another good recommendation from the guys on this forum.

Not sure what you mean on the top mount.
I use the OEM rubbers.

I'm content with the gap at the front now as it is normal (thanks for the photos), just going to get dirty under the screen so will have to pull it off from time to time, but that's no biggie.

As for the issue with the top mounts, I have used the factory rubber things like the photos in alex's post, but found when I was screwing it in, the screen stops the fairing from sitting on the front sub-frame (underneath). The screen itself looks like it needs to be cut back a couple mm.
Another photo below to try to show what I'm on about...do your screens sit flush on the sub-frame?

I get you now.
Mine did not do that.
I would loosen all 6 and the mirrors and try to reposition it. MRA don?t make screens which are different shapes so I think you need to adjust your nose section to match.

Cheers Alex, good to know it should fit :p
I did try and move it around when all the screws were loose, but it was pretty snug and didn't have much give in it (screen and fairings) and didn't want to push too much...but maybe I do need to loosen it all off again and be a bit more determined...which is good news as it should just be down to user-error! Which is a cheap and easy fix
