Hi Guys
I've looked for this but can't find an answer.......
Why are the wheels (forged) not balanced from the showroom?

My Gen3 2017 didn't have any weights when purchased with forged wheels.
When - soonish I need to change tyres, should I get them balanced or not?

BTW - road use only!

Thanks as always for the help

Hmmm they should be balanced from the dealer/factory when buying new. It maybe they didn't need any, stranger things have happened. My tyre people, FWR, always balance them and add as needed.

Hi
Sorry... I'm not saying they arn't balanced (although I havent checked!!!)

It's just there are no weights on any of the rims etc. looking at other new ones in show room, none have weights

Sorry for the confusion

Its not unusual for new wheels to not require balancing, they should run true when new.

Wheel Balance

Wheels should be balanced every time new tyres are fitted and weights added if necessary. That said wheel weights are not always required and it is not uncommon to see wheels without them fitted. You will soon know if a wheel is not correctly balanced as you will feel a lot of vibration and steering is affected, particularly at speed.

Wheel Balance

Tyres are getting better and better, especially slicks, and when fitted properly and checked on a wheel balancer they often don't need weights adding.
