Jamie, there a guy makes custom fitted plugs at Rainbow BMW in rotherham on 4th August.
He makes several types

Dave
cheers for that mate, im on hols but ill ask them for details

Always wear them. Hearing damage is irrepairable. You wouldn't stare constantly at the sun when it's out and I suspect you'd wear sunglasses on a sunny day so why protect your eyes and not your ears?

Also, the custom plugs are pretty shit compared to soft foam ones. The luminous yellow "bullet" shaped ones that Halfords sell are the best. I'd not recommend custom fitted plugs to anybody personally. Maybe the ones I had made were sub-standard.

My mates missus chewed one of them pink and yellow uns after he told her it was a marsh mallow pear drop

They must have been sub standard Moz, did you complain and if you did what was their response? ;)

They blocked out the sound no problem but I found them very painful to wear and they irritated my inner ear, even when they were properly lubricated (phnarr). I had them made by the guy at the NEC Bike Show, wore them on a handful of occasions and gave up.

I had a set of custom fits moulded yesterday, got to wait a few days for the sound filters to be fitted.

Jamie the guy lives at donny and will make them at his address if you fancy some.

I will let you know how they are.

Mmm, thats a Bummer. Mine fit perfectly but I did have a problem just the once. I put them in the wrong Ears (yes mine lol), rode off and got one hell of a headache after 20 mins, the pain was that bad I had to stop. Once I removed my lid and the Ear plugs the pain disappeared instantly.

dealers any more. let us know how you get on !!! :) :) :) ;D
I got some of those Howard Leight plugs, they are the best I've used, don't hurt the inner ear,and very very soft! Zero wind noise, thanks for the heads up,I'll stick with these now.

Yes cheers for that,I bought some soon as I read your post lol like I said before, way better than any other ear plug I've tested! Love em ;)

Always use them - but you'll need to shop around until you find a pair which are comfortable

Poor fitting ear plugs can be painful after a few hours

I also ride faster with them, and find I can hear everthing I need to hear

The 3M 1100 (Orange) 37Db NNR I use are always getting robbed by mates on trips who prefer them to their own supplies - popular with people who struggle getting earplugs to fit due to narrow ear canals too: they are quite stiff when cold and don't spring back quickly once rolled *although I have found some of the 1100s I've bought to be more rubbery and not as resilient to multiple insertions..as it were*
