    Shotgun Licence Renewal

I acted as signatory for my mate earlier in the year when he renewed his - agreed Stuart that it's a pretty involved form. I also got a phone call from the Police about 2 weeks after he submitted the renewal - it was basically a full on interview from the Police, making sure that I understood...

    Paint damage on alternator cover

That's been damaged and someone has touched it up with some paint............

    Tyre compound joint visible.

Stopped for fuel in Fort William - noticed this, still had 110 miles to get home.......it was significantly worse by then :concern: Funny how it was localised to that one spot, although TBH, I should have replaced before I went away for that trip !

Fitting an Evotech Tail Tidy Gen 1-3

I just cut the cable on mine and used crimped bullet connectors - I didn't bother soldering but these solder sleeves that Stuart uses look brilliant - I'd use these the next time. If the number plate light assembly doesn't work first time then you need to swap the connections round as it's an...

    Custom Painted Wheels

Correct - the HP wheels are a black anodised finish. And yes, the HP4 ones are painted blue.

    K3?s

I personally agree with your comments - I found the K3 to be a great tyre both on road and track - I don't run them any where near the OEM recommended pressures on the road and I have great grip and feel. I tried a set of M7RR last year and the front end felt terrible compared to the K3's. I...

    K3?s

I've had two sets on my bike and thought they were a great tyre........out of interest what did you find wrong with them ? Just finished a set of Michelin Power RS that have been discontinued apparently so will go back to either Supercorsa SP or K3

    Tyre Wear

I think you've got the front pressures pretty much spot on but the rear a touch too high......... Have a butchers at this link for some guidance on wear: https://lifeatlean.com/motorcycle-tyre-wear-guide/

    Tyre Wear

Stuart - The pressures you quote at the beginning of this thread for the rear are higher than the recommended guide (the updated one that you just posted) - that's what I meant in my earlier post....

    Tyre Wear

https://motorcycle.michelinman.com/motorbike/tips-and-advice/advice-motorbike/tyre-pressure/on-track I think you may be running the pressures a bit on the high side - see above link

Are the pressures you quote off the warmers ?

    Arrochar

All great roads - Inverary to Dalmally exceptionally good. Also, do the loop from Arrochar / Inverary / Lochgilphead / Oban / Connel Bridge / Glencoe / Tyndrum / Dalmally / Inverary / Arrochar - if you get dry roads you'll love it.

New tyres for my Gen 4

Interestingly...?.I contacted my local bike shop to order a new rear Michelin Power RS only to be told that they are no longer making the Power RS and that it's been replaced with the Power 5 - I queried this and they contacted their Michelin rep who confirmed that to be the case - the Power 5...

    Knockhill

Agreed on the tyre pressure advice - that is definitely too low for the front - you should generally be aiming for 35 hot I did a trackday at Knockhill last month running Michelin Power RS and started off with 30.5 F and 27.5 R (cold) as per Michelin advice and they felt good at that. The...

    Power outage

Be prepared for stone chips on the bike and midgie bites on your body...?.seriously, make sure you get some decent repellent - I was up in Ullapool last weekend and they were terrible

    Evotech levers

66Nm is the BMW recommended torque but the OEM bolts are too short when using the Evotech bar ends - if you try and torque to 66Nm you will damage the clip on threads.....Evotech know about this and I'm surprised they haven't sorted it out as the rest of their stuff is always spot on...???.

    Motorrad Alarmed Disc Lock

Here is a cut and paste for the ABUS 8077 which is the same as the BMW badged one: The Abus Granit Detecto X Plus 8077 in Bright Orange. The Abus Granit Detecto is a big chunky motorcycle brake disc lock with a built in alarm which is Thatcham approved as well as ice spray tested. The Abus disc...
