Got the bike back yesterday, all running fine now. They fitted a new crankshaft position sensor aswell as a new battery (which I didn't think was needed!) Aswell as fitting 2 new switches and a rear sprocket carrier due to the recalls/ known faults.

It does have full dealer history, I even took it back to the Hertford/Welwyn dealership to carry it on from the previous owner when park street is probably closer to me. Ive spoken to BMW UK customer services and they've said they'll do a 24 hour investigation with the dealership to see what...

I'm just waiting for them to call me back about a new rear sprocket carrier which they said are now being replaced under warranty for recalls. So I'll mention I'd like a new switchgear too.

It was serviced earlier in the day and I asked them to check them out and they were fine. Would I still be able to change mode settings an heated grips if it was the switch gear?

I don't think they look cheap atal. I can't see the vents being that important as none of the track fairings I've seen have them and the 2010/11 never had them either. I'm unsure on the legality of an integrated light come MOT time. Would be good to see if anyone's had an MOT with theirs fitted.

Ive got an R&G one on mine, not to keen on how much it makes the indicators stick out. Ill be fitting an integrated tail light at some point though an moving the number plate to the back of the battery box. Here's mine... (I usually have a black an yellow plate fitted the same size)

I've always thought fitting some mesh underneath the hugger hole is soo much easier and cheaper than buying a whole new hugger with no hole. looks good rr1diz

Did you have it fitted under warranty? switch gear seems to be a very common issue, just wondering if they'll fit a new one for free if there's no warranty?

BMW prices are ?200+!! From on all that I read on here, the Chinese ones are sh*t quality and fit. Keep your eyes open for a genuine one that come up for sale second hand on here and eBay. I had to buy a white one and have it sprayed black to match my bike, but it still worked out a lot...

Can't help you with where to get the paint, but I've just had mine sprayed black by a local bodyshop garage for ?30. Think paints an sand paper would have cost about ?10+ So you might wanna ask around an atleast you'll know it'll be a professional job for a little extra ???
