I started using a cool scarf (a buff/neck tube will do), soak it in cold water and wrap around the neck. Idea is that it cools the blood running to the head and again on the way down to body. Needs refreshing every 30 minutes. I have also heard of some riders filling their helmets with cold...

Lack of Insurance is the one that has put me off going back. No problem on the Motorrad courses.

The German bike magazine Motorrad organize 2 day events on the Ring, sadly now only once a year. You have to ride with Instructors. Various groups. Will need a road bike.

Good idea to wait, I Was speaking too a dealer yesterday and he remarked that he is being offered a huge amount of used bikes at the moment which is very early (usually starts Nov) and he is not buying. Good luck with your search and purchase.

Welcome to the forum Steve, I had my S1000RR for 8 years then Px'd it for my KTM Superduke GT... Fantastic bike and IMO better than the XR.. I test rode a few XR's before purchasing the GT.. Keep your GT :encouragement::encouragement::encouragement: EAMG

Nope, never owned a Gun as I am too Triger Happy!! We did manufacture quite a few thousand Gun cabinets back in the day when the regs got changed due to some geezer shooting poor innocent souls....
