I paid £600 last year with Carole Nash, their renewal this year was a joke. Even the customer service rep was embarrassed with their renewal quote! They wanted £4.5k !!! Needless to say I didn’t renew with them!

Think the warranty runs out soon, if not already! So I’m on my own anyway!

The BMW Motorrad guys I got the bike from seemed decent and honest! Will that change should I need a warranty claim is another thing! But I’d like to give them the benefit of doubt. They do seem genuine! This is Motorrad Bhanstomer in Maidenhead btw.

Was with BMW Motorrad. I sourced the de-cat and booked in with them a service and fitting. The bike was pretty much new.

When I asked bmw about fitting the akra de-cat, they seemed to think there was no issues with warranty since it was genuine akra to supliment the akra sports that came with the bike. I also thought it was a no brainer taking out the 5 year service plan to save me any hassle with any servicing!

Think the M1k has a slightly different engine to the normal S1k ….in one of the examples was a guy that had the M1kR that ended up having a hole in his engine! But BMW covered it under warranty. It is worrying that the one in Carwow went in the same way. Hope it’s not a design floor!

Phew! Makes me glad I didn’t go for the M1000RR!! Feel bad for those owners sitting on a ticking time bomb! Hopefully just a few bad ones and the rest ok!

Was this specific to the M 1000 engines. Are they tweaked compared to the normal S1000 engines?

Thanks, will give it a try, but then restarting the bike clears the warning! It’s very odd!

The bmw dealer said they checked it and nothing came up! I initially thought it may be the de-cat where there was no sensor for the flap, but apparently as it was a genuine Akra de-cat all the required kit was included! I haven’t had it on the dyno, nor will I as I think it’s got plenty of...

I got the dark mra screen too! Looks nice although I have noticed that the vibrations seem to be rubbing at the top of the screen where it meets. Not sure if anyone else has that! Think it’s just the buzzy engine…. It’s the same reason the wing mirrors are useless as they just vibrate so much...

I’ve de-catted mine with a s/s Akra pipe fitted by bmw and they’ve not said anything! Also like to note that I purchased the 5year service plan so to keep it all at bmw should anything arise! I’ve not mapped it and seems to run fine! I’m not racing just the odd spirited ride when the suns out...

Mines gotta go back in for a service and the foot peg recall, so I’ll mention it as well! Unfortunately for me I go back to the dealer where I picked up the bike, which is Bhanstormer in Maidenhead! Good bunch there and unlike other dealers won’t try and rob u! But they are a main dealer so not...

Mine is showing as MPH in the app but showing as KPH as the speed limit. I’ve tried to reinstall the app and then re-downloaded the uk maps, but still showing as KPH. Unless there’s been an update recently! I’m on iOS - not sure if it’s an issue on Android!

I have the same issue. Must have been an update somewhere! Very frustrating! Did the limiter trick work?
