    2012 Rear Shock

I've been meaning to get the spring changed on my rear shock for some time but now it appears to have had it's day. The damping is almost non-existent as it tops out very fast regardless of damping adjustments. It is the original shock after all so probably been due a replacement for some...

    Mugs

That's great, thanks for the heads up guys.

    Mugs

There was a guy on here 2 or 3 years ago selling mugs with a choice of S1 in different colours together with the specs. As I've just broken mine I was wondering if he's still on here and still selling them? Cheers, Mike

    2012 Wheels

Haha, thanks sockets, sounds like my sort of logic :) Hmm, the next question is going to be ceramic bearings or standard....

    2012 Wheels

Great, thanks baz, that's quite a difference then. Now I just need to decide if it's worth ?2.5k.

    2012 Wheels

Does anyone know the weight of the standard 2012 model wheels? Still considering BST carbons but be useful to know the difference in weights. Thanks.

    which levers?

Fab, cheers for that Derwyn. Hopefully they can supply just the clutch lever, if so I'll get one myself.

    which levers?

Cool. Let me know what they say. And, yes, very straightforward to fit :)

    which levers?

Hi Derwyn Got mine from Calsport on eBay (same place as Trumpetmans)... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BMW-S1000RR-2010-2014-TITAX-GP-SHORT-BLACK-BRAKE-CLUTCH-LEVERS-/151467657587?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts_13&hash=item23442d0973 Maybe worth looking or contacting them to see if they do a longer clutch...

    which levers?

I've got Titax GP black shorties on mine, look the nuts, although I feel I should have gone with the long clutch lever as the end bobble gets in the way, used to it now though. ?100 the pair.

    ride height adjuster

To get 8mm of fork showing did you raise or lower the forks i.e. what were they before? Mine is showing about 10mm currently (2012 model). I've flipped the rear spacer and it does turn in quicker, more noticeable on track, but the steering does get quite flappy on full acceleration in 2nd and...

    Winter Tyres

+ 1 I've got the older Road 3's, love them, very confidence inspiring and seem to last well. The 4's are supposed to last longer too as the rear has a slightly harder compound in the centre.

    Fuse for heated grips

Yeah, mine has 8 as standard and all these are fine. Personally I would have thought something like a couple of heating elements would have their own dedicated fuse. Time to trace through the wires.....

    Fuse for heated grips

As per subject line... 2012 model RR, do the heated grips have their own dedicated fuse and if so where is it located? They just stopped working, don't even show on the dashboard when the button is pressed. Thanks.

    S1000 RR Mode Settings.

Mine does, was doing this yesterday through narrow country roads. Maybe the different years work differently?

    S1000 RR Mode Settings.

Don't be afraid to experiment on the road and try slick, it's your right hand which controls the speed, not the bike. Slick mode still has traction control, just comes in a bit later and isn't so abrupt. Try finding a small patch of gravel, ride through it slowly, upright, and crack the...

Confirmation of standard equipment for 2014 S1000RR

Are you using a wireless keyboard? If so, then you're too far away from the PC / dongle and the signal is too weak.

Please help me clear this up

Easiest way for 2012 is to buy the header pipes and CAT from an earlier model then just cut the CAT off and clamp the new link pipe to the headers. Trying to do this with the tapered 2012 version is near on impossible.

    Never seen this before....

Wow, hope you had your wets on! I was there couple of weeks ago, very lucky as it was dry all day and apparently rained everywhere else.
