Giving thoughts to down sizing - opinions?

Agreed you have the best sports bike available but I really do recommend taking the R out, would make a cracking commuter and I guarantee you will ride it more than the RR as I didn't want to get off it after the test ride! I am just praying it is reliable as I will be piling on the miles with...

Giving thoughts to down sizing - opinions?

Just a thought, try out the s1000r, it's a totally different riding experience and it's a very confidence inspiring ride. With it being another BM you may (and I mean may) get a reasonable px price.

    Thoughts on the S1000R

I took one out on Sunday and it's a peach of a bike, I just clicked with it straight away. Handling up to 120mph felt better than my rr (dynamic pro selected for the whole ride), no top end rush like the rr just shite loads of grunt up to about 11k. Loved it. Deposit is down on a sport expected...

    After some opinions please

Once the cat is removed the fuel air burn is altered. Definitely go for a dyno run at least you will know whether you are running lean/rich. If required then fit a pc or similar. From experience it's worth every penny.

    Got me a tractor

Got to agree, has to be the worst site I have been on. Keyboard warriors that love to start needless arguments . Funnily enough though, in person they are all meek and mild :)

Should I Sell ??? Decisions, Decisions.

Standard will always sell better, as a guide I got £9000 as trade in 2012 Sport with 3800 miles Could have held out for £9995 private but would have more like got £9500 with the extras left in place.

    Going for 200whp

Be careful, have a look on youtube as there are some very interesting vids. One guy pitches up on an S1K with full system and filter mods, it made basically stock power, the guy switched out the mods for the OEM kit and it made 5bhp more! I will have a look and see if I can find the link.

    s1000rr?? Or should I...

The blade hasnt really changed since 2008 (apart from BP forks) but it is still a very competent road bike. If you are after a beast that in the right hands owns both road and track then the S1K is the daddy. Yes there are quality issues (but my blade had those in spades, rust, heavy oil use...

    Tyres for my S1000RR

Strange choice of OEM tyre fit! BMW motorrad school run Contiattacks and usually the bikes come with K3s, seems a bit weird as 016s are an old tyre are they not?

2000 miles in the Harz Mountains Germany

Well would you believe it I have absolutely thrashed the nuts off the bike all over Germany through all weathers and guess what.............................. ... .... .... .... ..... ..... ..... I have had absolutely no problems whatsoever! The bike has behaved impeccably

    Is my bike limited?

I am currently in Germany on tour and I can confirm that on the autobahn MIT luggage the s1k does a min of 178mph (GPS speed) and it was on a slight uphill !

What have you done to your bike today

That is refreshing to hear :) I am hoping to have mine for a while so this type of news is encouraging.

    Gearbox trouble

Me as well, its better at 2500 miles and two oil changes.

    Gearbox trouble

Good luck mate, to be honest they cant really blame a gearbox fault on an exhaust!

    jinxed or unlucky ?

The fact BMW are acting on them gives me hope, Honda wouldnt do anything with my less than a year old blde that used more oil than an RD250!
