Personally, I put warmers on for 45 mins to an hour then warm up on my first lap with real hard acceleration and braking when upright to get the heat in everything (tyres, wheels, discs, pads & suspension) and then you're good to go.

2010 KTM 990 SM-T, still looking for another at a decent price. Comfy, fast enough for the road and once the fuelling and suspension was sorted it was an incredible bike. Strangely, never needed to change the front tyre.......but then again it was waving in the air most of the time :-)

As mentioned above, speak to the tyre guys on the day. They'll give you the best advice according to the temperatures, your pace/group and your tyres. Best tip I have from a tyre/suspension guru is no to dawdle back to the pits when you're finished your session, continue at your usual pace...

Very tidy that Mike, what Kriega loops are those attached to your rack? The subframe loops? I alway seem to end up with loads of strap flapping all over the place with mine.

I can't understand it? Aprilia, KTM, Ducati etc all using the 2 pad Brembo caliper but BMW decide not to. Definitely not much in it performance wise as far as I can tell so can only imagine it's something to do with cost? Z04s are steep anyway but prohibitively expensive with the standard...

That sounds repairable to me, might need a conrod and new bearings. Perhaps some regrinding of the crankshaft. Seriously, get in touch with a decent engine builder and see if they can help. I'm travelling from Glasgow to North Yorks in my van every month and am at Cadwell regularly so can help...

I'd be surprised if the engine was irrevocably damaged unless the casings or cylinder have been severely damaged. Have you seen it? Any pictures? John Clark are a main dealer aren't they, in my experience a main dealer always recommend replacement rather than repair for any faulty part. Easier...
