My case is different, the fault comes on as soon as i turn the key, engine still not running. After the initial powering up of the gauges the warning light should turn off, on mine sometimes it remains on, and the engine still cranks and start.

I will order the sensor, and check, as I said it doesnt happen all the time. Guess if it was mechanical it wouldn't be intermittent

Lately the engine fault light hasn't been turning off, the bike still run but its low on power and restricted to around 7k rpm. Its an intermittent fault, and the diagnostic tool is recording a camshaft sensor input signal. Anyone else had this on their gen3?

I have checked its on. After checking the fuses and the voltage at the 3 pin connector, decided to take off the front cowl for better access. Both lamps where burnt, a bit strange that happened to both, but at least problem is solved. Bike has only 17k kms not miles. Thanks anyway

Update, replaced plugs and bike is singing once again:nevreness:

after cleaning and adjusting gaps to 0.8 https://imgur.com/a/RrZxJ95 spark resistance from 3.92k to 4.3k I can't manage to get the plugs sparking, centre pin of the coil is ground, pin 3 is the 12V, I had a spark on my kawasaki doing the same setup

coils checked all 4 at around the 540 ohm range no damage to the ceramic, to me the gap looks wider than .7 or .8 will clean, re gap and test with the coil on the bench and check for the spark Dont know if it make any difference but the bike is used during weekends only not more than twice per...

Thanks guys, just ordered one, I got a trickle charger too. The battery is not holding the charge very well, and since i ride with both lights on it gets charged less when on. My zx6r one is larger in size, cant understand how bmw fitted such a small battery.

Hi guys, it seems that my s1k battery is on the way out, nearly left me stranded twice. Its an 015, so over 5years old. The bike does not include the alarm, should i keep the same size or go a bit bigger? Any recommendations please?

I got mine last june for 260 euros shipped, brand new, a steal lol. It is with the obd 2 connector so had to buy a converter. Worth every cent as once i got the dreaded engine light flashing, which was a knock sensor. Also got rid of the exhaust servo fault , after installing the servo buddy.
