    Hi all

Haha sounds like me Stuart but with Skyline GTRs....too young and have no dollarydoos, years and careers pass then finally get those dollarydoos; prices have skyrocketed thanks to the yanks. Refuse to massive overpay for potential rust bucket or time bomb :-( But I digress...welcome Danno...

    tyres for S1000 RR

Prob not too relevant as I?m in Oz and apparently we get different rubber due to higher ambient temps...but, S22 have been the best tyre I?ve ever ridden on. Not yet tried DRC2 (bad experience on the originals so I?ve shied away from the ?slipirellies ?) or any metzelers, but coming from...

Gen 4 Recall on Cylinder Heads

How many parts like the valves would they make themselves, and do they still assemble the engines in Germany out of interest if anyone knows (Gen 4)...

    Today was Battery day

Bugger. At least you have some local-ish support so that?s a win. The app for battery is pretty swish...didn?t know such a thing existed...learn sth new everyday

    Good to buy local

    Today was Battery day

That?s annoying you have to override each time you jump in the car! Was curious if disabling stop-start could have extended the remaining-life of the battery if you switch it off so it actually gets a decent uninterrupted charge from the alternator. But if the battery is already pretty cactus...

    Today was Battery day

Do most cars with this stop-start feature allow you to disable it if you want, out of interest?

Winter Maintenance - battery leads and paint

I?d maybe suggest the CTEK as I have an Oxford Optimiser, whose connectors look similar to the Optimate, which has crap connectors plugging between the unit and either of the ends (requires the female end to be closed/squished otherwise the connection is flakey). The CTEK connections look much...

    New Brake Callipers, Recall?

Sounds like the gen 4?s have the same rubbing issue with the wire harness under the tank mount as the gen 3?s? Was that ever widespread or recalled etc? (Gen3)

Removing stick on wheel balance weights

Not sure how petrol will go on a clear coat?...could try that if pressed. Good for cleaning the spot the new ones need to go too.

Alternator output, and at what RPM?

Both would be good if known. Thanks mike_g, will be checking the numbers next time I get the bike out and confirm I?m getting sth similar.

Alternator output, and at what RPM?

Hi all, Anyone have information re the alternator output and at what RPM it provides the max charge rate? Specifically for a 2015-2016 Gen3. TIA

    Lever guards

Ahh right, yeah we have some sort of cradle thing that goes over the top down here to secure the battery in place. Guess that?d have to be omitted with the larger battery.

    Lever guards

Good to know the YTZ12S fits as I may be in need of a new battery soon too - did you retain the battery holder thing that goes over the top? Also somewhat on topic - does anyone know what rpm the alternator puts out peak or typical charge rate? Edit: this Q is specially for a 2016 Gen3 and not...

    Holy Huggers Batman!

Thought I remember reading yonks ago they?re typically there for some sort of air pressure considerations? Guess you?d need high speeds to really worry about that tho so...
