I read the same thing, looks like they've really killed the bike in the US to meet regulations. Those guys will have a smile when they get a map and pipe on there since they will completely jump the Euro stock setup which is damn quick anyhow and go straight to racebike speeds!

As above, call them for a settlement figure. Just bare in mind that the finance is weighted so you lose more money the earlier you settle. I know from experience that it's definitely not economical trying to get out in the first two years.

Thats dissapointing to hear but if you are looking at open engine work then I dont blame you for demanding it. Out of interest re your point about the gears sticking; are they sticking even when the clutch is pulled? it sounds like a common quick shifter issue otherwise?

Re: What have you bought for the gen4? I'll be interested to see if it is that noisy. I have no trouble passing 102Db with the gen 3 on a full system without baffle and the new bike sounded quieter than the gen 3 when I tested it. It made me think of a half way house to an electric bike with it...

I've been through the Como / Stelvio area lots of times but never the Dolomites side of Italy. Definitely somewhere to get to this year.

Looks stunning. I did the San Barnadino pass last year and was planning to come back this way but couldn't cope with driving in Switzerland again so ended up going the Austria direction instead! I reckon I'll do it on the GS this year if I get a chance.

Haha. This is exactly the same as my experience. I was still very much 50/50 due to cash flow until I test rode the bike a week before all these production issues started and decided I had to have one.

If any of you guys are taking slip data I'd be really interested to see it as the BMW always seems to have very high wheelspin but I have nothing to compare it with.
