    Moffat or equivalent....May/June 2023..

Hi Stuart, 'rain and Scotland go together like....' I could do late May or Early June. Monday 29th May is a Bank holiday, so weekend of 27th 28th 29th is a possibility. Otherwise early in June. Let's see what others think.

How about we start to think of dates / location for this 2023 meet? Borders/Southern Scotland/Pennines sounds good.

    Datatool

It might not be as bad as they are making out. The tracker is basically like a mini mobile phone with GPS. It will certainly stop working if battery flat or disconected for a long time. However, it probably will charge when battery reconected. I have a Biketrack tracker on mine. My bike got...

Solid Master Link Riveting Tool (M Endurance Chain for S1000RR K67)

I've not done an BMW chain, but have used the 'Whale Riveter' to do solid link chains: https://www.roadraceperformanceshropshire.com/products/whale-combination-breaking-and-riveting-tool-for-520-525-530-and-532-chains Not cheap but solid bit of kit. If you go this route make sure that it comes...

Cruise control won?t activate and battery appears flat

Worth getting a new battery if yours is older than a couple of years. In the cold an old tired battery can struggle. When voltage drops you can get spurious electrical faults. A while back (with an old battery) my bike would cut out when the heated grips were switched on. New battery cured the...

For Sale Threads? Why Can't I post?

I think the 'for sale' section is for premium members only to avoid spammers/ebay links

    Boot resoling

I got some quotes from 'specialist' m/c gear repairers, around ?80 just to restick existing soles. I have restuck the soles myself with proper shoe glue and clamps. Will let you know how long they last.

    Boot resoling

The soles on my Motorrad boots decided to detatch the other day. The boots (and the soles) are still OK but the glue seems to have persished. Does anyone have recommendations for boot repairers or experience of DIY re-glueing (I guess you need to be able to apply pressure while glue cures)...

    Boots

Hi Pauly, could I ask where you got your boots resoled. The pair I was using yesterday in the rain have decided to de-sole! Cheers, Rob

    Servicing

Cheers, yes that's cheaper than a main dealer that is usually well north of ?200. Also like the idea of people who specialise in servicing and not trying to sell you a new bike every time you go in.

    Servicing

Looks interesting. How do prices compare with main dealer?

    Workshop manual

That is a great idea Alex! I find the text in the Haynes manual helpful, but I use it in conjunction with the diagrams in BMW manual.

    Workshop manual

I agree that image and paper quality of Haynes manuals is bad. It has got worse in recent years, the photos were never great but some are barely legible now. I would also pay more for a decent quality manual - like tools 'buy quality buy once'

Looking very smart from the knees up. Hope it all goes well next weekend!

    Reinstalling rear wheel

They have a small ridge on the part that goes into the dust seal that stops them falling out. They are well worth the money. I used to struggle as you describe but these make it much easier. Hope your ankle is getting better.
