I wonder if it's something that BMW would rather not fix, unless they really have to.

I've read it's Shell. It's 30 miles to my nearest Motorrad dealer and 4 miles to Halfords. Just want a litre for top ups. I have some 300V left over, but apparently it's a no no for use in the S1000RR.

My 22 went in for an annual service at 3k miles, they've adjusted the adaptions, but it's still the same. Stiff to change down with the throttle closed, but really light with slight throttle. Something else, the clutch is very sharp when pulling away, less than 3k revs and it's easy to stall...

Sounds like maybe they don't know how to fix it. We'll see in a week, when mine goes in for a service.

Perhaps it was 6 months, the sales wallys went from being my new best mates, to totally blanking me when I took the bike in for services.

Did the same when I bought a new Gen2 near the end of 2013, but I recall the dealer asking me to let it run for 3 or 4 months. So I did.

I've said similar on yank forums, and posters quote the Magnuson-Moss warranty act, and say they can do whatever they like to their bikes. It seems BMW are clamping down on the hard of thinking now, and the likes of motomillion are crying about it.

My 98 Fireblade Akra had balance tubes on the headers, as did my 99 R1. And all the Akra S1000RR headers on ebay do too. As I'm the OP on this thread I have no objection to cheap headers, just poor copies.

Get a Bahnstormer manager to put in writing that your de-cat will be road legal, and wont invalidate any warranty.

There are no balance tubes on the downpipes, and seeing as Akra etc have had those for 30 years I'd say they are required. You've bought some tat.

I'm not referring to a BMW dealer, I mean BMW Motorrad UK. As I very much doubt they would approve removing the catalytic convertors. And ultimately it's them that ponies up for warranty work.

Well the dealer told me it would 'probably be ok' to change the exhaust. But BMW often ask for pictures of both sides of the bike, when there's a warranty claim. Why do you think that is? And the dealer wouldn't put that in an email. I've had full systems on lots of bikes in the past, but not...

There's no disputing that the BMW downpipes/cats are an ugly thing. But I've when I've pushed a couple of dealers for something in writing about aftermarket headers definitely not affecting the warranty, they've gone quiet. Though the bearing cap being loose on the Motomillion bike suggests it...

I always let the dealer service my bikes while they're in warranty. And surely there was another BMW dealer closer than 19 hours away. I'm guessing it had a tune as well as the headers at 400 miles, and the over rev were all red flags for BMW. There's plenty of posts on US forums where people...

I bought some 3M protector from an ebay seller, that claimed it was for bike use. It's so thick, there's not a chance in hell it would stick to anything but a slight curve in one direction.

I've had a Gen 2 and a Gen 4, but not a Gen 3. So I wouldn't post comments about a Gen 3, unless I was sure what I was talking about. If I was a sensitive type, I might consider scooby was having a pop at me, in his last post.

If you don't have one, why are you posting comments about a K67?
