    How do racing teams work?

Great question and one I've often wondered about. How many times have we seen bright young British talent head to motogp only to end up looking utterly ****. Career ending in some cases. Riders often refer to "the package". If the package is not right a great riding talent can only over come...

    Finally she's confessed

How can anyone have a head on collision with a bike, knowing you were 100% to blame, knowing you must have caused serious injury, decide that the best course of action is to flee the scene. How is it possible for someone to come to that decision? Unless they are a psychopath. Whatever punishment...

    Lessons learnt

I once went on a trip to Germany with a bunch of ZZR1400 guys (I was on my BM). One of them (a trained VW car technician) was saying how he'd just put new braided lines on his bike to improve the brakes. For the first day we did mostly autobahn at 100mph+. Next day was on twisty mountain roads...

    Mis firing

Mine runs like a bag of spanners from cold, especially if the weather is warm. Coughs a couple of times then revs it's nuts off. I've complained about it at each service. They tell me the new software update sorts it but it's never worked. I just put it down to being euro 5 ( or 4 or whatever)...

What have you bought for the K67?

Re: What have you bought for the gen4? Ah OK. I've left those bits standard. Sorry.

What have you bought for the K67?

Re: What have you bought for the gen4? These bits? As I said, I've got the Ilmberger belly pan for the standar exhaust. No need to remove or modify anything. It fits straight on to a standard bike.

What have you bought for the K67?

Re: What have you bought for the gen4? I had the rad guards fitted from new. They just clip in I believe. The belly pan just replaces the black plastic bits either side of the rad. Straight swap. Nothing else needs to be removed.

What have you bought for the K67?

Re: What have you bought for the gen4? I've got the BMW stock rad guards and the Ilmberger full (road) belly pan. They fit Perfectly. You do need to fit the belly pan from the front of the bike first. It helps if you have the front wheel raised (or removed) for extra wriggle movement. Locate...

    Points for discussion

    Nice one Jamie, interesting read.

    Front end push

Different tyres make a huge difference to how it feels too. Might not account for running wide though.

S1000RR Sport 2020 Ownership - When is enough enough...?

Out of interest what symptoms do you hear/ feel if the cush drive is worn? Particularly with cruise on? I get quite a bit of lash from closed throttle to open but I put this down to the play in the whole transmission with 16K miles on. With cruise it's fine.

    Sprocket torque values

Forgot to add I would have needed to wait until Aug before bmw could do it.

    Sprocket torque values

I initially asked BMW to do it for me. I was quoted ?410 parts ?85 labour. And thats for a chain thats not particularly well thought of. Ordered a set off ebay (hunters) for ?140 which includes JT sprockets (decent) and a heavy duty DID chain. Arranged for a mobile guy to fit the chain at my...

    Dash protector

I've used a speedo angle screen protector. It looks fine and will protect the screen from scratches. But the only time you need to touch the screen is to clean it. It's not like I'm constantly running my finger across it. A soft damp cloth brings it up fine.

    M endurance chain

The DID chain is also half the price of the endurance chain.

    Sprocket torque values

Cheers Rys. So its the same for cast or carbon wheels. Thanks.

    Carbon wheels

bananaman - remind me not to let you change tyres for me! I've just had to buy a new front carbon wheel after (I'm guessing) hitting a pot hole too. Only realised it was cracked after the tyre fitter had put a new tyre on.

    Sprocket torque values

I'm in the process of changing chain and sprockets. Just realised the manual does not list torque values for the front and rear sprocket nuts. Can anyone tell what the torque value for the front sprocket nut is please? Also the torque value for the rear sprocket nuts for M Sport carbon wheels. TIA.
