    Tracking my bike ride

Thank Alex, will have a look at that. Kam, unfortunately no iPhone, it's a Samsung. Someone did show me the find my feature on their iPhone and it looked quite good.

    Tracking my bike ride

Does anyone use an app or device to track their geographical position in real time when out riding their bike? Something that would show your position to your nearest and dearest if the worst happens. I'm due to start a tour of Spain and Portugal later this year, and for the first time, I'll...

    2020 Gen 4 Forks Issue

When I reported the issue to BMW when my bike was new they said it was the damping unit release valve opening at very slow speeds (less than 15mph) that caused the knock. BMW changed my unit (like for like) but the second unit was even worse. It not only knocked at slow speed (gravel car parks...

    cush drive play

Just checked the play in my cush drive, it looks about the same as the video shared by SHAY123, might be slightly less. About 2 mm play I'm guessing. That's after 18K miles. A question to the people that have changed the cush drive - what was the play with the new cush fitted? Is it zero or is...

    First ride out and disaster!!

Sorry to hear this. Re the damage to the helmet and clothing - it might be worth checking with your house hold insurance. I always take out helmet and leathers insurance with the bike, but, a mate of mine always laughs at me for wasting money. He's made successful claims on his house hold...

    Sat Nav

I've had a few Garmin motorcycle sat navs over the years. The easiest one to use and most robust was the 660 but as the maps increased in size it started to struggle. My current 595 has screen issues which I suspect are due to vibration. I've held off on the XT as there seems to be a few...

    2020 Gen 4 Forks Issue

Any idea who make the fork for the Gen 5? The Showa fork on my Gen 3 was great, the Marzoccchi forks on my Gen 4 not so.

    2020 Gen 4 Forks Issue

My bike (2019) had the knocking fork from new. The dealer replaced the cartridge at its first service but the second cartridge was even worse. They told me to wait until a proper fix was found. They rang me Sept last year to get a new cartridge installed which I did in Nov. Bike has been off the...

    Gen 4 Tank Panels Removal

I found the tank cover really difficult to remove the first time. There are a couple of plastic clips plus two velcro pads. The velcro was initially well and truly stuck. But I didn't know it was velcro until I got it off.

    Slip on db question

The gen 4 is a quiet bike, my stock can is stamped 94db. Changing the end can only should still leave it below 98db which is road bike legal. I've got a slip on only and its very slightly louder, especially cold. As Mr Smooth says, take the stock can jic.

    S1000rr Gen 4 M Seat - VGC

The M seat is very slightly higher but as its firmer you notice the hight difference. The M is wider too so overall it feels higher than the standard seat with feet on the floor.

BMW S1000RR K67 Tire Pressure Monitoring Sensor

I've had my front carbon wheel changed. The dealer that ordered it ordered new discs bolts plus the nut that holds the TPMS. They regularly break on second use.

    ilimberger road belly pan

Just to add to LeDuke's post above, in case anyone is considering buying one, I have the Ilmberger road full belly pan with stock exhaust and BMW rad guards and it fits perfectly. It looks ace and has been on and off a good few times over the last three years. I can't vouch for the pan for a...

    Allen Jefferies no more

Just arrived to drop my bike off at Allen Jefferies for a service and they have been bought out by Vertu. I'm quite sad about that. Hope the excellent level of service I've had from them in the past is maintained.
