Any idea if the sub frame is the same Alex?

    S1000RR Original End Can Gen 4 / K67

Unbelievably these are ?830 new. I've taken this one off my bike as it has a small dent near the mounting bracket (that's the only mark on it). I've tried to highlight it with a big red arrow. Might be handy if someone is planning on doing a quiet track day? ?50 plus postage (?10)

    Austin MotoGP

Overall it was a great experience. Just hearing the bikes coming round the track makes the hair on the back of your neck stand up. These guys are just amazing to watch. We really liked Austin as a base, walked pretty much everywhere. The people were very friendly, a nice vibe to it. Lots of...

    Alex's 2023 Gen 5

Re: The new hotness... I think the shift cam motor is a peach. Loads of smooth low down torque and when it revs out it just goes completely nuts. Having never ridden mine on track I can count the number of times I've held it on full throttle and let it rev out on one hand. I struggle to...

It's easy to get your picture taken with these superstars when they are stuck in the same customs security queue as you!

    2022 v 2023?

But, substantial changes could simply be meeting ever tighter emissions regs! Hopefully not though. Pauly, the TC on the gen5 has hardware changes also so wont be a simple software update.

    Alex's 2023 Gen 5

Re: The new hotness... Yes the "lurch" is a bit disconcerting at first but you do get used to it. Mine only does it in rain, which I guess makes it worse as you are trying to be smooth. Someone described it as "old giffer XT600" mode.

    Alex's 2023 Gen 5

Re: The new hotness... Thats a pisser re the paint marks, you can clearly see them in your pictures. It takes the shine (literally) off getting a brand new bike. Not acceptable. I have a question! Is the DDC exactly the same as the Gen 4? Is it possible to alter the damping at all in the road...

OE USB charging socket Gen4 part number

Thanks Sam. I'll check that once the bracket turns up.

OE USB charging socket Gen4 part number

I've just ordered the USB socket for my bike. The dealer didn't realise its supposed to be ordered with the bracket (61349446717- BRACKET) at the same time. But, neither did I. Can someone give me details of where the bracket fits once it turns up please?

    Austin MotoGP

Thanks Steve - great stuff. What I've learned so far is the shuttle bus service is actually put on by F1, MotoGP don't provide it. So we've hired a car which means we can come and go as we please. Sorted some parking in a private parking spot (farm) just outside turn 1. Should be easier to get...

    Lower standard seat?

@JamieMac did a whole post on recovering a seat and including a gel insert. Loads of detail on how to do it. Cant for the life of me fine the post. Maybe Jamie can?

    Lower standard seat?

Is this mod to help get your feet on the floor? If I was going to try to improve getting my feet down I'd start taking the foam off the sides first. Work out where your legs fit to the seat with feet down. Then you don't have to compromise comfort. Any foam removed from where you sit is going to...

    Austin MotoGP

Anyone got recent experience of traveling to the Austin (COTA) track for the MotoGP meeting? I'm heading there and staying in down town Austin. I was expecting to jump on a shuttle bus from down town to the track (and back) each day. From what I'm reading the shuttle buses only run for the F1...

    Tracking my bike ride

Thanks LeDuke, all great advice, especially the EMS thing. I use a dedicated sat nav. I like it and it works for me. But I see the benefits of using the BMW system. Good point re the phone battery life, I'll need to do something about that.
