    1250 rs

I'll need to have a look at the XR again. Being a short arse has always put me off them a bit.

    1250 rs

I like to stick to having one bike, and it needs to do everything I want from it. The RR ticks every box but I keep thinking I should get something a bit more grown up for the touring I'm doing. I'm half way through a trip round Portugal and the RR has just been stunning on these roads. I'm...

    1250 rs

So there are loads of members on this forum and lots have multiple bikes. Yet no one has a 1250 RS. Kinda speaks volumes!

    Tank side panel removal

The tabs on the coloured plastic part do "simply " pull out. Find one by inching your fingers round to find a tight spot where its fastened and easy it out. They are always harder the first time. I think there are 3 each panel

    Rear tyre size

Should be a 200 section on carbon rims. If you change between a 190 to a 200 or vice versa your supposed to get the bike recoded to match. It affects how the traction control works. I believe if you swap from a 190 to a 200 without telling the bike the TC will kick in very slightly earlier...

    Clown bike

Just to add, what he found most uncomfortable was an upright riding position. The GS was the most uncomfortable!

    Clown bike

Mate of mine is 6 foot 4 and has a bit of a dodgy back. He changes his bikes like his underpants and has tried all sorts, GS, Super Duke, etc. You name he's tried it. The most comfortable? The RR believe it or not. He's had 3 now, keeps going back to it. This was Gen 3s, he's not tried a later...

    Have I wrecked my bike!

One of my mates was saying he'd never buy a BMW with a shift cam engine. He didn't want a motor that operated a switch every time the rev counter went over 8K rpm. I used the above as an example, he shut up after that.

    Thinking of buying a 2023

Thanks bman, all good to know. The bar vibes are probably dependent on the bike and any slight differences when it was built. My gen 4 was less vibes than my gen3 but has got slightly worse with more miles whereas the gen 3 got better with miles. Ukbmw, I found the suspension does soften with...

    Have I wrecked my bike!

I'm always amazed by the technology in these motors. BMW have obviously done hundreds of thousands of hours in quality checking theses things to last a normal engine life time. They decided to put a hard limit at 14K rpm to prevent any potential problems so I assume it can go quite a bit past...

Interesting watch. Thanks for the honest review.

    Have I wrecked my bike!

If you have done any damage it probably won't show for another 50K miles. So if you plan on riding it in deep gravel the chances are you'll write it off long before that :friendly_wink:

    Full akra system

I have a different take on this. Any bike with a loud exhaust is anti social. We all then get tarred with the same brush once a loud bike is in the area. Plus something odd happens when someone fits a loud exhaust, they have to blip the throttle everywhere they go. Attention seeking noise...

Is your bike different Alex re the road functions? Did you get chance to see if you can alter the DDC in road modes?
