    Diamond race rearsets

I've got a set on my Gen 3 - no complaints, no issues and well made for the money.(like everything else, they have gone up quite a bit in the last couple of years - I think I paid about ?210 2 1/2 years ago)

    Gen 4 track bike

    Very nice.

    Forged & Cast wheel mix

+1 - I ran Pirelli, Metz and Conti front slicks with V02 rears prior to the V02 fronts changing a couple of years ago....would be happy to do the same again.

    Good videos on engine rebuild

Dave posts a lot on another forum I'm on, runs his own team at the TT - including a Gen 3 S1000RR - and was crewing for the Truloves in BSB last year - he does suspension, engine and race bike builds.........loads of vids on his youtube channel.

    Oulton Park double

They are - I've been doing 3 or 4 double headers at Anglesey for the past 5 years or so..............the low numbers are great - 1/3 of those in a "normal" NL group at Anglesey - as there is plenty of room on track and very few red flags. They get a lot of repeat business and therefore a lot of...

    Oulton Park double

Not at the moment - I've got the 4 double headers booked with Jamie Whitham in Apr, May, Jun and Aug but might pop down on those dates and see if I can get on for a half day.(I'd already decided on my Anglesey dates before those were released)

    Gen 3 Track exhaust options?

Same with mine before I fitted a full system........the bike used to quieten down as you approached 5500rpm......:D

    Gen 3 Track exhaust options?

That will make quite a difference as the butterfly was closed at the noise test rpm..............

    Oulton Park double

I've got 4 double headers booked for this year plus it's only 15 mins away...........:fat:

May MSV dates are up now.

    Cost of ECU flash

Pete Clifford really knows his stuff.
  12. Gobert

    Cost of ECU flash

I know mine's a Gen 3 but I recently had mine flashed by Crowe Performance after fitting a full system - he unlocks the ECU himself and you can use the RCK3 software going forward. The ?750 included dyno time to sort the fueling etc. You also have all the other adjustments carried out including...

Rim damage to HP forged wheel

If that was you asking on FB then I'd avoid the hammer and a piece of wood advice..............

    Gen 4 track advice

Yes - I live around 300 miles away from him but went there as he was one of the few suspension guys that knew a bit about the electronic OE suspension.

    Gen 4 track advice

Mine was improved with lighter front springs, a bigger air gap and raising the front (flush) / dropping the rear via the eccentric spacer...........I got MCT to replace the fork springs & oil. That made the bike steer & "feel" nicer especially at the front. Not much that be done to the rear...

    Gen 4 track advice

How heavy are you? Have you changed the geometry at all?

    Gen 4 track advice

I know mines a Gen 3 but as far as tyres go, I couldn't agree more - I've done a few road-bike-only days were at that time you couldn't use slicks / warmers so rode on S22's and while ok, the feel / grip especially from the front was very different and I felt I had very little in reserve.
  18. Gobert

    Gen 4 track advice

Exactly - tyres are a very good example of where it always nice to have more than you need.

    Gen 4 track advice

But does it matter?...........I've seen guys on ?50k plus bikes riding in novice and inters - each to their own imho. There's no "right" or "wrong" way to do track days and sometimes people change things to make a bike nicer / easier / safer to ride rather than purely to go faster.

    Gen 3 noise/tappety?

If you are going to the hassle of replacing the OE system then you might as well do it properly with a flash or PCV etc........at least you have somewhere close in HM that know S1000RR's. It was a 10 hour round trip - twice - to get mine sorted.(not by HM)
