What disc lock do you use?

Hi Phil, You are probably right, the graphite powder was on recommendation from Roadlok. However my experience is that the locking pin has stuck more since I used the powder than cleaning and lubricating with WD40 or GT 85. Basically I can’t win which is why I am binning the Roadlok.

What disc lock do you use?

WD40 and alike are great for freeing up the sticking pin and lubricating it but ultimately they will just attract more road grime and make the problem escalate. That?s why the graphite powder is recommended.

What disc lock do you use?

I have had the Roadlok fitted to my bike for the last two years and today I have decided to remove it. It is very convenient to have attached permanently to the bike and I do not like the idea of carrying anything solid in my jacket or belt that could do serious damage to my organs in the event...

Does your S1000RR give you a buzz?

The buzzing noise developed into a fizzing crackling noise similar to a loose wire crackling. I took the bike to Bahnstormer who very kindly assessed it at the time and repaired it. Apparently it was the exhaust valve flap that was causing all the problems and that it had been connected instead...

Does your S1000RR give you a buzz?

My bike has suddenly developed this buzzing noise when I turn the ignition on. I’m pretty sure it was not there before. I am used to a few electronic click noises when the ignition is on but then the bike used to be silent until I started the engine. Now I get this really loud buzzing noise...

    18k Service Next Month

My bike has just had its 18000 mile service. I took out the BMW five year service plan which will be cheaper than the 18000 and 36000 mile services combined, meaning years 2,3 and 5 services will be free. As an added bonus the service plan stays with the bike if you sell it.

    New Tyre(s)

I had my puncture examined today by a motorcycle tyre fitter and I decided to change the tyres. Apparently the Michelin tyre is quite a soft compound and prone to easily being punctured and the fitter sees far more punctures in Michelin tyres than the other premium brands. I didn't want to risk...

    New Tyre(s)

Hi Oli, Im in the same stage as Huge above after my first ride out today i have picked up a puncture. I have plugged it but when i got home and tried the soapy water test it is still slightly bubbling. Hi I have Michelin Power Sport RS front and rear which I have been happy with. I now need to...

Rizoma mirrors with integrated indicators Veloce L Sport

I prefer my OEM ones for overall practicability. You cannot fold these in like the OEM which I always found a really useful feature and they are not so easy to quickly reposition the actual glass. The glass itself is very clear with a gentle shade of blue. I like the built in indicators and if...

Rizoma mirrors with integrated indicators Veloce L Sport

I had them fitted by a bike technician, but I do recall that you buy a bike specific wiring kit with the mirrors and that it’s plug and play.

Rizoma mirrors with integrated indicators Veloce L Sport

A few photos of the Rizoma mirrors. These are fitted on to mirror extenders as i'm a big fella and dont like staring back at my shoulders and elbows.

    Security

If you park your bike at a permanent place of work you could consider the ground anchor and chain set up there as well and leave both in place. The chain needs to be 16mm or thicker so it will be too heavy to carry around. The padlock is another 1kg. It is a lot of initial cost but the chain and...

    Saddle bags. Yee-harrr

Are you aware that Ventura also do a waterproof cover for their luggage, then again bin bags and tape is cheaper!

Rizoma mirrors with integrated indicators Veloce L Sport

Hi yes I now have them fitted. My bike is currently hibernating under covers and blankets but should wake up in a few weeks. I will post some photos then.

What disc lock do you use?

Hi I have been using Roadlok for two years now and you can see my review on a previous thread. Regarding U.K. support it is excellent and contactable [email protected] (Ian McCarthy) . I had a slight issue with the locking pin getting a little sticky and difficult to remove. Ian responded...

    18000 mile service or wait

Yes the service light must have come on about 14000 miles. If I get a basic oil service at 15000 miles am I right in presuming in a few months when i reach 18000 for the big service that they won't bother changing the oil. At least I won't have the cost of the forks being rebuilt just yet.

    18000 mile service or wait

My S1K was first registered 29/6/15. It has had its initial 600 mile check. Going from service record printouts it has then had on 6/7/16 at 5355 miles an oil and oil filter, sump plug seal replaced along with a new K and N air filter fitted. On 28/4/17 at 8047 miles I had oil and oil filter...

    Replacement Battery normal or Lithium

I have a Shorai lfx19a4-bs12 lithium battery and Shorai charger. Super lightweight and very reliable, even with the alarm system. It also comes with a five year warranty.

    190 vs 200

I have the forged wheels which must have come with 200 tyres then but I see when they were changed the mechanic has fitted 190's. I have never noticed before and presume he must have ordered them for my bike without knowing the forged wheels run on 200.

    Datatool Trakking problems ?

Did the technician say it was just specific to the 2017 model. I have one on my 2015 bike. Unbeknown to me it stopped working for six months. BikeTrac were the ones who advised me when I contacted them and they were the ones who said it had not worked for six months. However they were absolutely...
