    Annual Insurance Rant

I was with Carole Nash for a 3 bike policy, 2018 S1000RR, 2023 Ducati Monster+ 937, 2005 Triumph Daytona 955i. Renewal was £598 up from £420 the previous year. Spoke to them on the phone, jiggled around with bike values, mileage and excess and got the quote back down to £418. As it was renewal...

    WSB .....

And Kawasaki signal their exit from WSB at the end of 2024 and change the brand to ‘Bimota by Kawasaki Racing Team'. Hurrah! Now we just need KTM/MV Agusta and one or two of the Chinese manufacturers to join in

    Buffing up scuffed carbon

Good points well made from roadrunner. Just a little further explanation of his points. 'Flattening off' means using wet and dry paper in various grades, look at the scratches, how rough do you need to start with? 800 grade? Use plenty of water and a dash of washing up liquid for lubrication...

    Adjustable clutch lever

There are loads and loads out there to suit your budget. Many are in different colours and selectable levels of distance from the bars, matching brake levers too. I chose mine for my 2018 Gen 3 from Motea in Germany which are adjustable for length, colours of the lever, colours for the...

    Sold my HP4

Hey Stu, don't leave us! You're a great content provider on this forum. I've loved all your missives. The various car sales and purchases. The race focused MV 800 triple review. The pillar drill that turned into meeting the wall of death dude and the pictures that went with it were nicely...

    Police Spec M1000RR

I'm 6'4" and I comfortably fit on my 2018 Gen 3 with stock rear sets and triple clamp/bars. I might look like a gorilla trying to have *** with a rugby ball but I've done 16000 happy comfortable miles aboard her with a stock seat too.

    WSB .....

You just gotta love Toprak. Finally BMW are getting proper serious about 4 cylinder sports bikes. Great racing all weekend, I loved it.

    Low beam not working.

My memory isn't good, as you can clearly see 👓, and, I had my son diagnose it for me at the time. I'll shut up.

How big a job is it to fit softer springs to a Gen 3 DDC?

Take a pillion with you everywhere or eat more pies, get your body mass up to 137kg, stock springs work fine. <grin> sorry, couldn't resist it. Is this a fat thing? Is it cos I is fat? I'll get my coat.....

    Low beam not working.

I had the same issue on my k46 on a tour through France last year, Main beam and side lights worked, changed the bulb which was broken to no avail - still no dipped beam. Are you sure you've checked the correct fuse? From memory it is a red 10A mini fuse and it took two looks at the removed fuse...

    Motorcycles in bus lanes

Done! Thanks Alex, Last year I was a Blood Biker riding from the Blood Bank at St Georges in Tooting to hospitals across London central and suburbs, Surrey and Middx. It was so much safer being able to use 'most' of the London bus lanes (you had to keep your eyes peeled on the signs as some...

    Starter clutch

Just trying to think this through with you. I'm no expert but have had similar experiences on other bikes. 1. Battery check. Charge the battery overnight. Then measure battery voltage across the terminals with a multimeter with no load , then switch on ignition and measure, then measure whilst...

    Newby

Welcome, I have a 2018 Gen 3 - not quite the same as yours, but having changed an alternator/ stator on a Triumph 955i before there shouldn't be any oil behind the alternator housing. I've just checked the K46 2017 Haynes Manual for my bike, the photos show it to be dry of oil behind the cover...

    My Gen 3 S1000RR

Very nice Tom, well done. My initials are Steve T Wood STW, I love your plate, wish I'd spotted that before you! :) I had a Triumph 955i mapped at Steve Jordan's place. They did a really thorough job and I even got to stand in the dyne booth at the end and filmed the final run where they wrote...

Unfair PCP & HP deals - £1000 compensation

I'm not sure I'll get £1,000 with my claim on BMWFS. When I bought my K46 from Vines, Guildford, I got 0% finance over two years 50% deposit and £1 per month PCP payment for 24 months and I paid off the balloon at the end. I thought that finance deal was as good as a discount as I tried to...

What did you do with your bike today?

Really small. I woke her up gently from her slumber with a coffee in one hand - she didn't want the coffee fortunately! I gently lifted up the covers, charged up the battery with my Optimate, put some dry lube on the chain, checked the tyre pressures, coolant level and oil level ready for a ride...

    Garage Flooring

Hi buddy, Happy New Year to you! @JamieMac on this forum very, very kindly gave me some used Dynotile floor tiles after he changed it all out in his double garage. I laid them in both my garage and my wife's outdoor workshop. They are tough, durable and strong and I can wheel the bikes around in...

    Haynes manual

I don't disagree with Stuart about the visual quality of the book, I have one for my Gen 3, I use it as a form of reference on the few occasions I decide to delve a little deeper. I mainly use it for the torque values at the beginning of most sections for putting everything back together again...
