Neutral is a common pain. Does the engine cut but doesn't shift? Could be a lazy left foot, not releasing the lever fully after the last shift Try exaggerating the release after shifting to eliminate this. Personally, I use reverse shift, it's easier lever down for changing up.

If I remember rightly, (it's about 13years ago) it's about 2cm x 1 cm clipped to the side of the frame under the seat, thought it was black but could be wrong.

Yep, at 6'2" I have the same problem. Currently running chinese m knockoffs which give 1-2 mm extra. Also made a rear seat thats taller for general ride outs

vds sensor is under the seat, it just clips in, you may have dislodged it when in there ...
