    Re: Waterproof boot recommendations

Went to Alpha today and got Alpinestars Web Goretex for £160. No Smx in stock and they were £70 more. Let’s see how I get on with them.

    Waterproof boot recommendations

Got some Daytona Evo Voltex Goretex about 4 years ago and whilst they are brilliant they are now not waterproof having had the inner replaced once before.

    Re: Not changing modes

Try force closing the throttle (twist it slightly closed when shut)
Could also disconnect the battery in a switch it off and on again attempt

    Re: Chain lube for track

Wurth dry lube. Over 20k from a chain on the road lubing every 450 miles (weekly) all weathers says its good stuff.

They are chocolate. I used Irwin Vise grips and replaced them with stainless hex bolts.

    Re: Locked up

Leave the old pads in an put a flat lever in between the old pads. When you apply pressure it will be more even on the piston. Give the piston a good clean before though.

    Re: Newbie question

You will have to trace the cable. I have a bazzaz unit on my Gixxer and used something like this to switch modes. Unlikely on the S1KRR though. Does the garage light go on and off when you use it.

Re: Rounded a bolt fitting new rear sets

I replaced both ones at either end of the qs rod with stainless from probolt. Seem to remember they were like chocolate. I would use visegrip to remove and replace with stainless

    Re: Michelin Power RS

Would agree generally but also say that some tyres work better in different circumstances. I wont use supercorsas as they wont warm up enough on the road. Different if I was on track.

    Re: Michelin Power RS

Yep. Surprisingly good in the wet and capable in the dry. Different turn rate than Pirelli and Metzeler (slower) but stable all the way to the edge

    Re: Help needed URGENT!

Id recommend getting a 30 long drill bit and drill until it goes through the frame on the other side. That way you can attach them together via a rod [emoji2957]

    Re: Lowered footpegs

Not got raised bars. Not overly but then Ive covered about 200k in the last 10 years on sports bikes so I may be immune to it.
Think the lowered pegs help with it.

    Re: Lowered footpegs

The seat is worth it. Combined with rearsets you can lower the peg height too.
Im 62 and commute on mine. Needs the seat and rearsets though

    Re: Clarke Bike Lift

Er.... wheel the bike on backwards !!!
Just make sure the bolts are fitted properly as well. There is no self balance like the ABBA or Clarke lift.
