Re: Setup, how far do you really need to go..?

I'll have a look at my OE shock tomorrow. I tried it with the eccentric in both positions and it steered nicer with the reduced rear ride height.

Re: Setup, how far do you really need to go..?

352mm seems to ring a bell?

When I was on OE suspension I ran the forks flushed and the eccentric in the upper position (ie least ride height)

    Re: Sprockets

Yes - when I said OE kit, it was the OE DDC set up I was referring to. I'm running the standard chain length with 16/44 gearing so the axle is towards the rear of the swing arm.

    Re: Sprockets

    16/44 works ok at Oulton.

I weigh around 13 stone in my gear and the front was really improved with the 2D pot, lighter springs and a different air gap in the fork - I had the work done by MCT...

    How much do you weigh?

    What tracks do you ride?

What track day group do you ride in?

    Re: Sprockets

As above, you will spend a lot of time with the front in the air. I'm running the bike high at the front, low at the back which is regarded as the right way to go to get the "right" swingarm angle...

Re: track advice - gearing......and brakes

No - only those listed. I've found the OE ones give more feel and power than any of the others I've tried. The only "problem" is that they are more expensive than the others and I go through a set in...

Re: track advice - gearing......and brakes

I've tried SBS DC, SBS RS and BMW HP pads and none of them were as good as the OE Brembo ones on road or track. I've got some SBS DS to try this year and I will be peed off if they are not a step...

Re: gen 3 factory suspension settings

As simple as "that what it says in the Gen 3 handbook".:chuncky:

I couldn't understand why either but that's what it says.

Re: gen 3 factory suspension settings

When I had my forks done by MCT, he said that I should run the rear at minimum preload as the spring is too firm and it's not an easy job to change. You also need to have the bike switched on before...

    Re: TW suspension setup.

    MCT carried out the following:

    10nm springs
    7.5w fork oil
    100mm air gap
modified preload spacer (no idea what he did)

That was for a 74kg rider (normal clothes) using the bike on road and...

    Re: TW suspension setup.

I had the springs changed on my Gen 3 and it really improved the feel from the front end - MCT carried out the work and he also changed the air gap. I'm 74kg and I think he fitted 10's but that was...

    Re: M sport springs

I assuming the Gen 4 DDC set up is totally different to the Gen 3 as you could change the springs / air gap in those for a positive difference.
