    New leathers ?

J&S, try some on for size. Then use the interweb. ;) It is the cheapest way. Leathers are not designed just for the track. Some are track oriented with humps and logo's I give him that but as a whole they simply offer the best protection and can be used for a wide range of motorcycle...

    Right knee fairing protection....

6'3" tall and bike is standard. Never had this issue. My knees do not touch the fairing at all unless I move my feet all the way forward and rest my heels on the pegs. With my feet correctly positioned on the pegs I have a good two inch clearance. What I did find is that the paint on the S1K is...

    Last night of the proms

I haven't watched it in years. I have seen the pomp you mention at many a traditional british ceremony. If we brits do one thing well its throw a jolly good show old bean. For all its faults and despite me gritting my teeth with disdain everytime I pay the licence fee, the BBC does cover...

K3 seems to be too soft.

I have today just replaced the K3's with Dunlop Sportmax Sportsmarts. Put about 100 miles on them on the way home. Wow these tyres sure do like to tip into corners, suprised me at the first roundabout I arrived at. I nearly took a trip across the central island it turned in so much more...

K3 seems to be too soft.

My second flat in 3 months. Is it my imagination or are the K3's more prone to punctures than other tyre types. I'm assuming this is due to them getting very soft during a quick ride. Anyone else found the K3 is more likely to sustain punctures than other popular tyres such as 2CT's and quali...

    The new family member

I've already laid down the gauntlet. It would appear that she has lifted it and struck me firmly upon the chin with it. Booking a track day with the g/f so she can show me her skills. Now to buy some BT090 tyres for her.

    The new family member

The other half passed her DAS test three years ago and has made do with a CBR125 since that time. Not the kind of bike that captures ones heart. With my recent purchase of the S1K and the Fireblade before that, it was her turn to purchase a new toy. She wanted another horse but I put my foot...

    Traction Control

Yes he states he was in race mode and claims it was the front lifting under hard acceleration and coming back down onto uneven ground that started the problems. I've never experienced a tank slapper before despite riding an 08 Fireblade quickly and being rather rapid at times on my S1K. I guess...

    Traction Control

Another forum I use has a topic about the pitfalls of traction control. The overall consensus seems to be that a TC system will get you into as much bother as it will help avoid. This is the video that caused the conversation. BMW S1000RR Huge Tank Slapper at Knockhill The feeling is that...

    good price?

I picked mine up with alarm and sports package and heated grips for £13595 from York. So I'd say there is more in them yet. Maybe a little more if its a bike thats had recal work done. Be cheeky and offer 13000, you never know :)

Cheap S1k for sale on Ebay - maybe suspect

2.5year old bike. Basic model. The owner is poorly and wants a quick sale. I'd say its priced about right. I'm sure anyone parting with 7+ grand will be checking its integrity before riding away. I'm not sure what made this stand out as suspicious to you. :o

    Pazzo levers

I was told modifications to the bike, with the exception of akropovic exhausts, would void the warranty. Does this apply to levers too?

    My baby...

Time for some whoring… I’ve had the Fireblade since new. I bought it in late 2008 to replace the Daytona 600. A fantastic bike that did everything well. Too well really. Bags of power. Fantastic acceleration. Great handling and an absolutely awesome amount of mid range power. But after 4...
