    Oil Pan sump corroded

one thing i have learned in dealing with BMW UK customer service, is that under trades description, there must be a case for a class action, as they only ever seem to serve themselves. I've been backwards and forwards with a switch issue, looking less and less likely to be resolved, and the idea...

    Left hand switch problems

the left hand switchgear seems to be a very common problem .. has anybody on this forum had a replacement from BMW outside of the warranty period whereby it's been paid for BY BMW??

    D cat

No need to remove rad and oil cooler, as the headers will drop with the room available behind them. one thing that DOES need to come out, the bracket that stablises the mounting of the Rad/Oil cooler. a little tricky to get to with a star key, but made a lot easier if you invest in T30 socket...

Always ideas out there, some good, some bad .. this one for the bucket. cheers docta, copper slip paste a good thought, I dont relish the prospect of having to take it all apart again once fitted

I also saw a suggestion recently that the join between the headers and the link pipe, and the link pipe/ can, can be make tighter using PTFE tape .. anyone else heard this?

im sure i'll have a couple lying around. does the bracket sit back because too much length is left on the headers? I'll look at this over the weekend. It's good to know this is a common problem before I resorted to getting the hammer out :lemo:

    D3 tail tidy owners...?

i fitted an R&G tail tidy, on a 2010, all very simple. I did need to cut wires, but no great drama. I did pay a visit to Maplins, tho, they sell a black heat shrink insulation which really does tidy things up

Rusty Sump cover & faulty switches

that's interesting, I had the horn fail on mine and paid the 150+ fitting in May last year, despite this being a fairly well documented problem on the forums, BMW wouldnt budge and i had to stump up the cost, I still have the old switch, and it looks like the circuitry breaks down when it gets...
