Swapping your S1000RR for anything other than a HP4 is a very silly idea :D
A friend of mine had a Daytona 675 and hated it. Said it spent more time in the garage being repaired than on the road, and was thoroughly unreliable. And he used to ride a Ducati to work every day!
Dunno about the HP4 but I live in the square mile and have no problem filtering on the standard S1000RR... in fact a lot of my friends think I'm a nutter even though I think I'm just progressing normally same as I would on any other bike?
In Paris on the peripherique most bikes filter with...
I think most of it is down to postcode. I consider myself lucky to get quotes of around £800. When I first got my bike most insuirers wanted more like £5k and I had to go through BMW at £1500 (and my renewal with them was £2700 lol)
I think the headlights on the S1000 are alright - biggest issue is they point straight ahead when you want to turn round a corner, but there isn't much you can do about that without mounting the lights on the handlebars or forks or something...
I have the BMW tailpack and tank bags. They aren't very spacious, look bigger in the photos. Also they aren't fully waterproof, so be prepared for that if you get one.
None of you know me really but I'd be up for this. Got a few invites to the BMW ones but they are something nuts like £1000 plus you get your own flight there!
My bike sat in the car park for about 2 months without being used last year, started up on the first press of the button when I went to take it in for a service in January, so the optimate is arguably not needed either!
