    BMW Club track days

Track days are a great tool to develop your riding skills. They can unfortunately not be 100% safe. I started doing track days 14 years ago, and experienced more crashes and offs in the first 3 years, due to inexperienced, so quoting its safer, is a slight understatement.. But what I will say is...

What did you do with your bike today?

It is currently naked, as I have removed the fairings, to check the wiring, with some deep cleaning needs. Hopefully by the weekend I might be able to supply some pics. A proud owner for 19 years. The picture was taken 2013

What did you do with your bike today?

Had a motivational speech to myself. Went to the garage and installed a full set of Spider crash protection covers, they look great. I came out of the garage with a smile on my face, as I managed to get my 2003 SP2 started after 8 months of troubleshooting.

Probably a boring 'which gen should I get post...'

Scotty, I?ve owned a Gen1,Gen2,Gen3 and now have a Gen4. All of them have delivered great pleasure, I?m still adjusting to the Gen4, as the quick shifter is not as good as the Gen3. I?ve still got my Gen 3, and think it?s the better bike IMO. It?s better to stretch your budget to get the Gen3.

    Cush drive

Hi Gents, has anyone used L74 Cush drive metal spacers. I?ve just purchased and installed onto the back wheel. The sprocket carrier is now solidly installed, but does there need to be any play. ??.

    Chain tension

I?ve never measured the chain height. I?ve always gone with feel and have never had any problems. A check can also be, pull the chain at the back of the sprocket, maximum amount is 1/2 a tooth visible. Strange may it sound, you need to check at different intervals, of the chain. As there is a...

    Carbon wheels

It?s interesting that a carbon fibre wheel , can?t take an impact such as a pothole. Plenty on the roads to negotiate around. I?ve heard of people being successful with claims against the council over wheel damage, due to potholes. Find the biggest pothole you can, and claim against. RAC have...

    Alpha Racing - Quickshifter Fitted

I eventually got the HM quickshifter GP installed, got it set at 60ms for all gears. It seemed okay on the Dyno run up / down, with some set ups through the ECU. I?m heading to Oulton on Wednesday, for a day. I?m hoping it will be smooth with no issues. It?s got to b an improvement on the OEM...

    Alpha Racing - Quickshifter Fitted

Interesting, I hope I don?t need luck. I hope I get a perfect/ positive response from HM. Frustration on my part, as I?ve tried a few attempts today, with no progress. What was your final outcome.

    Alpha Racing - Quickshifter Fitted

Well installed the HM quickshifter, as per downloads and HM instructions. Unfortunately never went through initialisation and calibration sequence as described when the ignition was turned on. Having read other posts, on HM I?m not feeling confident. I have a HM on my GEN 1 and have never had...

    Alpha Racing - Quickshifter Fitted

I purchased a track bike with race shift 2021 model. My first time out I felt I had to apply a lot more pressure on the lever to get a positive response. My Gen 3 was smooth and slick in comparison. Heard and read the OEM quick shifter on the Gen 4, was not ideal. So I stepped into the market...
