Hello everyone I am a new member.

Hello everyone I am a new member, I don't normally join or speak on forums but as I have an S1000RR that has engine problems I have found myself hunting through this and the USA site for info on my fault.
Anyway my name is Arthur but I am known as Arf. I am 48, male, a complete petrol head and I do lots of work on my and mates bikes.
I'm not realy sure what else to put but I would be happy to anser any questions anyone has.

Hi Vinny, I put a rod through the front of the engine, I have put a detailed write up on it under the recall posts.

just read it arf...thats a bit worrying as mine is an early 2011 build.

As I said tho Vinny mine went in 750 miles so if you've done more miles and reved it hard hopefully its a good one.

Its not nice having a new bike that has any sort of problems let alone one like yours, I hope that you get your new engine sorted without too much fuss, at least the weather is poor while your waiting.

Hey there Glad you joined us.

My FRIEND Gareth, is doing well thanks!

He saw the specialist today and is booked in for surgery Friday. May have some nerve damage on his thumb but otherwise it's pretty routine... will be in plaster for four weeks. The bike on the other hand...

No worries, easily done!

He'd dislocated his thumb (which he put back in straight away) and snapped the ligaments around it.

Bike has broken and cracked fairings, fooked left rear set, sheared flush indicator, lots of paintwork damage, heavily ground down alternator cover and a very useful but pretty much worn down crash bung! Nothing major and can be fixed, just a long list of stuff to work though.
