Well, about a month ago and just got around to write it up lol
Friday was test day, sat and sun 2 races each day.
Have to say it wasn't a good start to the season..... On the tues, I went down with what I can only say was the mother of all man flues, felt absolutely shite, if it wasn't for the fact i'd already paid and had waited 5mnths I would have bailed out!
Arrived on the Thurs afternoon, fortunately sharing a garage so unloaded and set up. Was very difficult in my state to socialise with all the friends i'd made and not seen since last year so decided to throw yet some more pills down my neck and get my head down in the van, to-morrow's another day...
Woke up about 5.30am, no better so downed some more magic pills and went for a track walk. Soon woke up, a real pea souper and about 1 degree. Jeeze, I was shivering and sweating at the same time lol.
Thought i'd wait 'till the afternoon before venturing out and it warmed up a bit. Went through the usual procedures of warming the bike to 60c letting it heat sink for 20mins then getting it up to proper temperature and switching tyre warmers on about an hr before going out. Suited up, having a coffee and realised that I had not one ounce of excitement in me, that was worrying....
Anyway, things would get better on track wouldn't they? Swung a leg over and set off down pit lane, f*** me it was still cold lol! Did 4 laps and realised I was too much of a liability out there to others and came in. My head was somewhere else and my limbs didn't belong to me....Great !!
Don't remember much about the rest of the day, tut.
Sat morning, qualifying. Not much better but had to go out and set some sort of time to get on the grid. Did about 6 laps, wasn't going to get any better so came in. You don't realise how difficult it is to concentrate when you feel shite, if I could get through the weekend in 1 piece I'd be happy. 2 races in the afternoon, nothing special, at least I finished them and not last !!
Sunday I could focus more, not a lot more though lol. 1st race started well but got to druids (turn two) and there was a big crash with some of the front runners (read f...ing quick boys) some of you might know Phil Crowe off facebook, yep he was racing that weekend. Restart was ok and held my own.
Last race gee'd me up a bit. Rolled up to the start at the end of the sighting lap, scrolled through the dash menu for the launch control. Some of you may know that to get to launch control you have to hold the start switch down, 1st it goes to pit lane limiter then continue holding it down and subsequently it moves on to launch. Well, it only got to limiter when the grid lights came on so was panicking and had to wait another couple of seconds for it to change, OH SHIT !! Got left on the line..... Woke me up a bit lol
Vid of a few laps of this for your amusement, makes you jump when the really quick boys lap you at the end lol....
Never thought i'd say this but I was happy that it was all over especially as my lap times were 3secs down :(
Donny next, 8-9-10th April, looking forward to this one !!! Let me know if anyone interested in dropping in may get some tickets and of course a free cuppa !! :)

Great read bud. Nothing worse than a flu I used to always catch them when I was younger before the flu jab came along

Well done bananaman. Nice post and great read. You'd obviously have gone faster with some forum decals on your bike but at least you made it home in one piece :).
